Chapter 125: Striking the Chains

The air in Blackmere carried a weight of urgency. Damien stood in the war room, his steel-gray eyes fixed on the map spread across the table. The arrest of Verris had momentarily stabilized the court, but Calder's forces were still advancing along the eastern front. Reports from scouts painted a grim picture: the coalition's supply lines were well-fortified, and their troops were regrouping for another push into the kingdom.

Damien turned to Carys, who was studying the same map with her sharp green eyes. "If we allow their supply lines to remain intact, they'll overwhelm the eastern garrisons within weeks. We need to sever their resources before they can launch a full-scale assault."

"And that means targeting their depots," Carys said. "But they'll be heavily guarded. Calder won't leave such critical points exposed."

Amara, seated casually on the edge of the table, smirked faintly. "Heavy guards don't mean much if they don't see us coming."
