Lady Mariel sighed dramatically. "Why is it that mothers act like our lives depend entirely on finding a husband? Honestly, it's exhausting."

Eleanor chuckled, crossing her legs and leaning back. 

"They just want their daughters to have a stable future. In their eyes, women are nothing without men."

Mariel smirked.
