Chapter 37: What if?

Eleanor was strolling through the park with Lady Mariel and Greta. It was a beautiful morning, and the air buzzed with chatter and laughter as nobles enjoyed their leisure time. However, Eleanor quickly noticed the lingering stares of the people they passed.

"Is there something on my face?" Eleanor asked, feeling self-conscious. "It feels like everyone is staring at me."

Lady Mariel chuckled. "Of course! They must have already heard that Prince Adrian visited your residence. I'm sure they're all dying to know what happened that night."

Eleanor forced a smile. "R-Really? Maybe I shouldn't have come out today."

Lady Mariel waved dismissively. "No! You should be proud. Can't you see? Everyone is jealous of you now."

"I'm not used to this kind of attention," Eleanor muttered.

"Well, you should start getting used to it. You're going to be our queen soon!"
