Chapter 36: A Great News

"So, tell me everything! What happened?" Lady Mariel asked eagerly, practically bouncing in her seat.

Eleanor tried to suppress a smile as she looked at her friend. They were seated in the lush gardens of the Hawthorne estate, sipping tea beneath the shade of a grand oak tree. 

The morning sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a golden glow over the neatly trimmed hedges and vibrant roses.

Lady Mariel had arrived unannounced first thing in the morning, too impatient to wait for Eleanor's letter.

Eleanor still couldn't believe what had happened last night. It felt like a dream—a whirlwind of emotions she hadn't been prepared for. Prince Adrian had proposed.

Her mission was complete.

She could now live this life as it was meant to be, but a lingering unease twisted in her stomach. The system had warned her—she needed to maintain this reality for at least a year. 

And who knew what obstacles might arise in that time?
