"They do more than forget," Lord Caldor growled. "They defy us. Tax collections have slowed, and our authority is being questioned."

The group fell silent for a moment before Lord Varoth leaned forward, his sharp eyes glinting. "Then we must remind them who holds the power here. If the people won't respect us willingly, we'll force them to."

A murmur of agreement spread through the room.
