Aiden's footsteps resounded through the marble hallway as walked to the boardroom. Marina walked beside him like a couple walking down the Isle on their wedding, she held her head high despite being nervous.

"You didn't have to come," Aiden said, looking at her, secretly admiring the elegant dress she wore.

"Yes, I did," Marina replied. "If Maxwell is threatening the board, this affects both of us. I will not sit back and let him try to tear apart everything you have worked for."

At this, Aiden gave a faint smile. "You are stubborn. You know that, right?"

"Oh, you are just realizing this now? You are not that bright, are you" she shot back jokingly, earning a low chuckle from him.

They approached the double doors to the boardroom and swung them open, revealing a room filled with Wellington Industries' top executives. Conversations stopped the moment Aiden walked inside, for his presence silenced the room.
