"Wait, 2 [Random Skill Shards]? Where did the second one come from?" Alchemy narrowed her eyes.

"Maybe it was from the [Rare+] enemy I caught? It didn't give me any skill, but I can't think of anywhere else it'd come from." Nera gave her thoughts.

Alchemy nodded in agreement. It was less common than getting a skill outright, but gaining a [Random Skill Shard] from a rare enemy wasn't unheard of.

"That's a shame, though. You want me to save the skill for you, or should I just use it?" Alchemy asked.

"I-I don't deserve such a gift. Please, use it yourself. Especially since you can't use any traditional weapons." Nera answered, shaking her head vigorously.

"Yeah… Figured you'd say something along those lines." Alchemy sighed.

[Heroic Seeds] like Nera and Sapphire couldn't gain most skills until they blossomed into a true [Hero].

The only way for them to gain skills prior is from either receiving one directly through some means. Killing a [Rare] enemy or getting a skill handed down through some means.

The other way was from simply increasing their stats.

Alchemy considered arguing with Nera, and forcing the skill onto her when she became said true [Hero], but Alchemy was on the front lines enough to agree that she needed a lot of skills as well.

Then again, Nera specifically had that broken [Exclusive Skill], so what else could she possibly need?

Giving one to Sapphire was also an option, but it'd be a while before she hit the requirement of level 50, and saving the shard for that long would be a waste.

There was a type of skill shard that only prospects could use as well, but aside from that she'd make sure her [Heroes] gained the next few.

Grabbing the three skill shards, Alchemy began by using the [Growth Skill Shard]. As the name suggested, it would give her a random [Growth Type Skill].

"Give me… That one skill that has a 1% chance to kill people immediately. That'd be really funny." Alchemy said.

||

"Darn it!" Alchemy complained, despite the skill she obtained being one of the best possible for her.

"Alright, show me the info." Alchemy sighed.

"Ahhh! Whatever, it's a strong and easy-to-use skill. At least I don't have to nearly die for it to activate like [Supplication]." Alchemy hummed.

Alchemy would really like to see the exact numbers on the skill, but she had a general idea of what small and medium amounts meant.

After getting over her lack of one-shot skills, Alchemy quickly moved on to the [Random Skill Shards], crushing them both simultaneously

"Okay, now I want… Uh… I got my healing skill already, soooo, give me an offensive skill that scales with my CON."

||

"You'll give me what I want one of these days, System." Alchemy groaned.

Allowing herself to fall back and lie on the ground, Alchemy could only let out a defeated sigh.

While both skills were useful, she couldn't use either right now. [Skill Synthesis] was already a fairly shoddy skill since the skill that comes out of it has no guarantee of having both effects.

For example, if she fused her [Supplication] and [Ruinous Bloom] skills, she might get to summon flowers that buff her and her allies but lose the healing effect altogether. Inversely, she could get a skill that gives her a delayed but massive heal after taking a large amount of damage.

The fusion of the skill could carry both effects, but the risk wasn't worth it unless you had extra skills to sacrifice.

And [Advanced Alchemical Theory], aside from the irony of her obtaining it, was utterly useless as she didn't know Alchemy. It would be great once she upgrades the [Research Center] enough to gain an area exclusively for that, but that was a ways off.

"No reason to be upset, I suppose. Skills are skills. Now… Upgrades?" Alchemy hummed, grabbing out the [Tier 1 Building Upgrade Vouchers] she got.

The Tier 1 upgrades weren't all that expensive in the first place, which lowered the value of these Vouchers, especially when she could have gotten more [Tier 2 Building Vouchers], but she felt her complaining over petty things was rather pointless at this point.

More than that, she thought she'd done it too much today. She could complain about minor things later.

At the same time, she was curious how annoying she had to be before the system gave into her, but that was a question for another time when the rewards held actual value in the grand scheme of things.
