Chapter 48: Teacher's Arrival

As Alchemy awoke, she scratched her head while looking at the system notifications.

"My faith didn't increase? I guess entering into that meditative state isn't as easy as I thought it'd be. Guess I'll try again tonight." She hummed, stretching as she stood from her throne.

"Status."

"Right… I forgot about [Miracle Generation] leveling up. What sub-skill should I even grab?"

Alchemy opened the list of sub-skills for [Miracle Generation] while she hummed to herself.

Looking at the remaining options, Alchemy initially planned on taking [Sanctify] but decided against it.

While there wasn't one best order for selecting the sub-skills, [Grace] and [Sanctify] would ideally be the first and second picks. However, after considering it, [Sanctify] wasn't a high priority for her current situation.

Rather, none of the skills were of great use to Alchemy right now.

The skill increased her land at the cost of divine power, but knowing that she was surrounded on all sides made her not worry about it for the time being.

[Desecration] did the opposite, destroying the land of Divine Factions, and was only valuable for Holy Wars.

[Piety] was her second option, but even that didn't seem too helpful. It allowed her to create [Avatars], clones effectively that shared a small portion of her stats, her skills, and her senses, and allowed for remote control over units from long distances.

It also theoretically allowed for conditional revival, but Alchemy didn't want to consider that as a need right now. Further, the primary usage wasn't great for her since, as far as scouting went, she knew about all her relevant neighbors, and Nera could already give remote orders.

Leaving only [Grace] to choose. This skill was the most useless skill on paper, and Alchemy really only saw it as a crutch for noobs, but it did give her a synergy with [Nature Manipulation]'s sub-skill once she leveled that up.

[Grace] granted the ability to create objects tiered equal to or lower than Alchemy's existence level. In other words, since she's evolved once, she could create Tier 1 materials. However, the amount of Divine Power that cost made it unusable practically.

Early, its only use was summoning food items, so she saw it as nothing more than a crutch.

"Whatever. It'll be worth it if I can get a [World Tree] placed within the first week."

'How close am I even from leveling up [Nature Manipulation]. Conversing with two [Hero++] individuals should have given me a ton of EXP for it.'

Moments after she selected the skill, Sapphire walked out of the bedroom.

"Ah… Good morning, Master Alchemy." She yawned.

"Hey, Sapphire. Good Morning."

"Do we have any plans today?"

Thinking about it for a while, Alchemy shrugged.

"Not really. We should have enough points to start researching a building by now, so probably that an-"

"GRROARRR!"

Mid-sentence, Alchemy was cut off by a deafening roar.

Instinctually, Sapphire ran behind Alchemy.

"I need to get a counter for how often I get cut off." Alchemy scoffed, rushing outside.

She already knew who was causing the ruckus, but it was too early for this.

As she left her hut, the scene could only be described as the prelude to a disaster.

Nera, the Thornskirmishers, and Wingrazers were surrounding Gravana, preparing to start an all-out brawl.

"What's your motive, you rabid dog!" Nera shouted, holding two sticks that were readily being reinforced with SP.

"Grahahaha! I'm just giving my dear disciple and her kin a wake-up call. Waking up early is the first step to having a healthy body after all!" He laughed heartily.

"If that's what it means to be healthy, then I'll need to ensure you never wake up again!" Nera retorted.

A manic smile appeared on Gavana's face.

"I'll accompany you anytime, little shapeshifter!"

Then Alchemy stepped in.

"No! I'd prefer you didn't beat my aid to the brink of death, please! Yet." She pleaded, stepping in between the two.

As she looked around, Alchemy could only let out a deep sigh. Nearly everyone, barring a few Sylvan Carvers, was in the base. Because of this, everyone in the base, except Nera and Alchemy, was inflicted with [Fear].

'There goes my happiness score. I just barely managed to save it yesterday, and now they're terrified again… Tomorrow's going to be another day of gaining 400 Divine Power.' Alchemy lamented.

"I was awake already. Thank you, Teacher. I was simply mulling over my plans today."

"Mother Goddess! This damned mammal knows no respect!"

"Nera, go do literally ANYTHING else. Start research on a smithy or something. We can do this later."

Unhappily, Nera pouted before stomping off to the [Chrysalis Nexus]

"Honestly… That girl is more suicidal than I am."

"Grahaha! Kids are certainly troublesome."

"You're not helping! The children are terrified because of you! Can't you just announce yourself like a normal… Wolf… Person."

Seeing Alchemy confront him without a second thought made Gravana extremely happy. To be his disciple, Alchemy had to be at least this courageous.

Courageous or stupid. The one Alchemy fell under was up for debate.

"Very well! So long as you're up bright and early, I won't cause a fuss!" He continued to laugh like an idiot.

Grabbing her forehead as she already felt a headache coming on, she looked up at the hulking Werewolf.

"Right… Why are you even here again? Training or whatever?"

"That's right, little Monarch! It's time to begin your training. By the end of this, I'll make sure even that old monkey can't beat you!"

'I've made a grave mistake, haven't I?' Alchemy inwardly cried.
