Ch. 74 - The Great War! [11]

Sitting on the chair, Ajuka tinkers on a Rook Evil Piece, weaving a bunch of intricate seals and runes to ensure that the Evil Piece would live up to its capabilities.

"Sigh. This is getting tiresome. Maybe I could make something that would automatically create Evil Pieces? Like my supercomputer." Ajuka muttered to himself, pondering over his future plans when suddenly an orange-colored portal manifests behind him, earning a sigh of defeat.

"Again?" Ajuka whispered under his breath.

Stepping out of the portal was a familiar black-haired man.

"Ajuka. I need your help with something." It was Chamber, and by a single glance, Ajuka could already tell that something is troubling him.

"What is it?" He asked not outright denying to help his friend.

"Have you heard of the Dimensional Gap?" Chamber suddenly dropped, causing the green-haired man to rotate the chair he was sitting on to face him.

"What brought this up?" Ajuka recoiled at the mention of a familiar yet dangerous place.

"Zekram just told me that the Apocalypse Beast awakened ahead of time." Chamber once again dropped another bomb.

"What?!" Ajuka's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting such grave news to arrive at his doorstep.

"Big G is fighting it. We can't afford to lose either of them. I need your help to pinpoint their exact location inside the Dimensional Gap so I could stop them." Chamber explained, coating the truth with lies.

"….I've barely studied the Dimensional Gap. However from what I know, it is similar to another Universe, but empty. So if we take the universe as a reference we can assume its coordinates. What we need is an Energy Sensor device that could both read energy signals and pinpoint its direction, all while mapping out its surroundings. But it would take a very long time to create one." Ajuka replied, stating the dilemma.

"Time is not an issue!" Chamber grinned as he assured Ajuka, his newly upgraded Mirror Dimension spell taking place in his mind.

"Time is not an issue? Are you serious? Don't tell me you want to ask the Agares clan for help? I don't think they're powerful enough to manipulate time to such an extent. Time is a very delicate concept and tinkering with it wou-" Before he could finish his words, Chamber slammed his hands on Ajuka's shoulders, cutting him off.

"Ajuka, do you trust me?" Chamber's words were met with a slow nod of the head from Ajuka.

"Good. When I say time is not an issue, it isn't." As if on cue, Chamber snapped his arm on the side, causing a small orange magic circle to appear on the tip of his fingers along with a crack on space.

"Shall we?" Chamber offered with a smile on his place.

Ajuka, of course, trusted Chamber and stepped through the broken space, his eyes widening as his senses felt the disappearance of the magical beasts that he kept for experiments.

"Where are we?" Ajuka's curiosity got the best of him and asked, looking around the exact same place except there's no sign of any living beings aside from them.

Not only that, Ajuka also noticed how everything around him feels like reversed, his notes and letters feels unreadable unless you focus enough.

"Welcome to the Mirror Dimension. In this place, I control both time and space." Chamber smiled and introduced the spell to him, explaining its uses.

"Currently, we can spend a month here and only a second will pass in the real world." He explained, earning a gasp from Ajuka.

"W-what? How?" Ajuka asked with a slight stutter.

"Have no one ever tell you to never ask a magician for his secrets?" Instead of telling him how, Chamber simply grinned and winked at him, making Ajuka frustrated.

"Fine. Keep your secrets. Though as much as I want to start making the device now, I don't have the tools and materials needed for it." Ajuka explained first.

"Just state them and I'll fetch them for you." Valuing time, Chamber didn't hesitate to help.

***

Ajuka doesn't know how much time has exactly passed but he kept his entire focus on creating the Energy Sensor device, at the first few months, he was able to make a crude version of it, however it is not only big but also lacks the mapping function.

Just so you know, Ajuka is doing this not only because Chamber told him to but also because he wants to discover more about the Dimensional Gap too, he's just been too busy to shift his focus on studying the Dimensional Gap, however with Chamber asking his help being the reason, he finally abandoned what he's currently working on and focus on the Dimensional Gap.

"Home to two of the strongest beings in the universe. And here, two mere devils are going to attempt to visit it and rescue our worst enemy, Big G. Even Serafall, with her wild brain wouldn't believe me if I tell her this." Ajuka muttered to himself, chuckling at the irony of what they were doing.

They're supposed to fight against God not save him.

'But still, I wonder what truly made him worried? The plan failing or something else entirely?' Ajuka made an assumption as he sneakily glanced at Chamber pacing around the room with a worried face.

'You gotta tell me the truth after this, Chamber.' He whispered for the last time.

Another month has passed and a small circular device rests on Ajuka's palm, a series of complicated numbers, altitudes and latitudes roam around the edges, courtesy of its mapping function.

"Is it finished?" Chamber appeared behind him like a phantom, excitement filled his face upon gazing down on the Energy Sensor device.

"Yes. But we still have two more problems. First, how are we supposed to survive the Dimension Gap without necessary protections. For what I know, oxygen, air and even gravity doesn't exist inside it. Lastly, what do we do if the Infinity Dragon discovers us, much less, Great Red?" Crossing his arms, Ajuka laid out the problems they would have to face.

Although he trusts Chamber and sees him as a friend, that doesn't make him blind, following through Chamber's plan would be a death sentence go the both of them.

And he's someone who values his life.

"Did you think I was idle this whole time?" Smirking at Ajuka's confused expression, Chamber smirked and continued.

"During the time you were creating the device, I was creating a bunch of spells and runes that would hide our presence and allow us to survive inside the Dimensional Gap and roam there as if we're still in the Underworld." To prove his words, several complex runes manifested around Chamber's body before disappearing.

Not only Chamber's turning a bit transparent, but his breath becomes weaker, so weak that Ajuka thought the man is dead. The same goes for his smell.

Ajuka knows that if he were to close his eyes, it would be impossible to find Chamber. Not even his sense of hearing and smell can detect the man.

"It took me quite a while to create this but it's worth it. Do you want to know how effective this is?" For some reason, Ajuka grew uncomfortable seeing some sort of pride welling on his chest.

"How?" Gulping his saliva, Ajuka asked.

"I used this to myself and entered one of the Satan's home, more specifically Beelzebub's mansion. Trust me, that guy's security is lacking. I could've choked the life out of him when he was sleeping with women." Ajuka's blood grew cold after hearing what he just did.

"You did what?!" For the first time, Ajuka lost his composure.

Who wouldn't be? What Chamber just could've gotten him a war against one of the Satans and probably half of the entire Devil race, considering Satans are like messiahs and messing with them is akin to messing with the Devil race.

"It's not much and like I said, it's effective that even Beelzebub failed to realize I'm standing in his room while watching his copulate in the weirdest way I've ever seen. Let me tell you, when it comes to him, it's the opposite, he's the one taking it! He's taking it!" Chamber words just made the entire situation more unusual and dreading.

"Please tell me you're not going there again as an experiment and I don't need to hear the last one, I could've lived the rest of my life without knowing it!" Ajuka grew angry as he yelled at Chamber.

One of the feared Satans, being the one who takes in when it comes to bed activities? That's an information he would rather forget than know!

"My bad. I was just trying to prove it to you like I said earlier. Anyways, are you sure the device is ready?" Chamber deliberately changed the topic.

Ajuka of course prefers the same and cleared his throat as he replied to his question.

"I haven't tested it on the Dimensional Gap yet but I'm 99.9% sure it would work." Chamber raised an eyebrow at it and asked again.

"And what are the chances of that 0.1 percent happening?"

"I used one battery instead of two." Answered Ajuka.

'I'm not sure if he's attempting to be comical or something.' Chamber whispered to himself and decided to simply chuckle.

"Yeah right. Haha~. Anyways, let's go?"

"Sigh. I'm not trying to be funny but okay." Ajuka rolled his eyes and nodded his head, watching casually as Chamber pressed his palm on his chest and several runes appeared around his body like earlier on Chamber.

Once that's done, Chamber proceeded to conjure a portal.

The familiar portal slowly came to life in front of them but the place on the other side was a mix of various colors swirling on a dark space like a kaleidoscope.

"So this is the Dimensional Gap. Seeing it is better than reading about it." Ajuka muttered to himself, his grip on the Energy Detector device tightening as he nervously stepped forward to approach the portal.

"I'll go in first." Chamber said, feeling like Neil Armstrong whose about to take his first step to the moon.

As Chamber found himself floating on the other side, his eyes couldn't help but wander around in fascination.

Thankfully, the spell seems to work as Chamber was breathing and functioning properly without any problems.

"I'll go next." Ajuka trusted Chamber and followed suit, now floating next to him inside the Dimensional Gap, similar to Chamber, Ajuka was also left staring at their surroundings with a dazed expression.

The portal then closed by itself, leaving the two of them alone in a vast expanse of space, unknown dangers might be lurking around them.

Chamber was the first to snap out of it and unfurled his wings.

"Let's go. We can't exactly stay here." Chamber grabbed Ajuka's still dazed state and yanked him out of it, dragging him along as Chamber flew forward.

Hopefully, it won't take them long to find God.
