Ch. 85 - The Great War! [22]

"Any findings?" Roaming mindlessly in the air, Hermes received a call from his father, Zeus.

From the quivering tone of his voice, Hermes can tell that Zeus was nervous for some unknown reason.

"….Not yet." Hermes lied through his teeth. Actually, he already have a lead, its just that he doesn't feel like snitching on his new friends.

Yes, he has considered the children he met at the Sanctum as his new friends. This is the first time he made friends with human children.

"Still, what made him call me Peter Pan?" Hermes's mind went to the first time he met their master, Chamber.

He reeks of a devil for sure but what made him confused was the name he called him.

'I wonder who this Peter Pan is. If he mistook me as that Peter, then does that mean I look like that guy?' He pondered to himself.

"I like the sound of it. Peter Pan. It kinda suits me." He mused, repeating the name in his head a few times before deciding.

"Alright! From now on, I'll be called Peter Pan when I'm out here in the human world!" He recklessly yelled out in the sky.

CRACK!

BOOM!

Suddenly, the sky turned purple as a lightning bolt struck beside him, shocking the life out of him.

"I'm sorry Father!" His apology echoed in the distance.

I didn't managed to get a wink of sleep thanks to being called to a meeting early in the morning by Zekram.

Apparently, he's calling a meeting with everyone, not just me.

My guess is this meeting would be about the Great War that will occur this very day.

I was tempted to ignore the meeting and manage my own matters. However Zekram stated that the meeting is very important and would concern the entirety of humanity.

And so, I was forced to attend.

At the meeting room, only me, Zekram and Ajuka are the only ones in the room, it's not that surprising, me and Ajuka are always the early ones in the meeting while Zekram would obviously be the first since he's the one setting up the meetings.

'Looks like he's fine.' I muttered under my breath as I gave a nod of gratitude to Ajuka, who also nodded in the same manner in return.

We both stayed silent about the matter while Zekram, noticing the silence in the room, showed off a toothy grin as he spoke.

"What's up with you two? Nothing unusual happened that I should learn about, right?" He leaned forward as he said that.

I see, he must be onto us.

Technically, I was the one he informed about the Apocalypse Beast, so he should be suspicious of me about the matter.

But how come Ajuka also fell under his suspicion?

"Nothing much. Just a few failed experiments, that's all." Ajuka shrugged his shoulder, answering the question in his usual calm demeanor.

Zekram nodded his head, unknown thoughts probably lingering in his mind. He then turned his attention to me.

"Chamber?"

Instead of answering him, I just shrugged my shoulders.

To be honest, call me arrogant or something but ever since reaching the strength of Ultimate-class along with the new powers I possess, my respect and previous admiration towards this old man has disappeared, replaced by contempt and norm.

Don't blame me, this might be caused by either the fact that I turned into an ultimate class or an angel, albeit a corrupt one.

I think this might be caused by the latter, after all, Ajuka and Serafall are both Ultimate class beings and yet they never grew arrogant towards others such as Zekram.

So perhaps, it's because of my new bloodline that has a latent hate towards the devils. Though this doesn't mean that I also felt hate for Ajuka and Serafall.

Even if my bloodline tells me to also hate them, then my will that has grown to trust the two is stronger than that, suppressing the supposed hate.

"I see. Because a few days ago, I can't enter the Dimensional Gap after discovering that the Apocalypse Beast has escaped and then suddenly, yesterday, I can enter again only to discover that the enormous beast has disappeared from the last time where I saw her." As his explanation goes, I squinted my eyes while on the corner of my vision, I can see Ajuka clenching his fists.

"Surely you two wouldn't know something about this, am I right? Especially you, Chamber." Zekram then shifted his attention towards me, as if his number one suspect is me.

In which he is right.

However, I won't back down just because of this.

"Are you saying that I have something to do with it? And even if I do, may I remind you that our relationship is partners in the same group, not your subordinate." I straightened my back as I coldly stared down on him.

I was tempted to flaunt my new Holy Energy but thankfully, suppressed myself from exposing it.

Yep, definitely my angel bloodline making me hate devils like him.

Zekram squinted his eyes on me, his purple eyes glowing slightly before closing them.

"My apologies. These past few days have been very hectic for me and I don't mean to anger you." Zekram bowed his head as he said.

Of course, I don't intend to prolong this especially since we're nearing war, so once he backed down, I also did so.

"Ehem. Anyway, let's just go and wait for the others to arrive so we can start our discussion."

I found myself a chair to sit on and quietly reviewed the books that I previously read in my mind.

We waited for a few more minutes before Sirzechs arrived, followed by Serafall and then lastly, Falbium as usual.

"Now that everyone's here. Let's start by the place of the war. Last meeting with the Satans they discussed about the place and they talked about somewhere around here." Opening a huge paper on the table, he unrolled it, revealing the confusing content.

"This is the human world based on the information my men gathered. This one…" He pointed at a certain part of the map and then continued.

"Is where the Satans have decided to place the war and to make sure we win this. His plan is to separate the devils into different parts of the Earth." Finishing his words, he then stared at us.

"Our plan is only to make sure that he won't grow suspicious on us. So we'll do what he said and cause chaos in these parts." Heh, as if I would do that.

Chuckling to myself, I nodded in agreement along with others, or at least pretending to.

After that, Zekram proceeded to discuss a few more things, warning us about the angels such as when to run or who to avoid.

It's mostly about Michael or Gabriel and the other Seraphims.

Guess what, I didn't listen.

I already know them, or at least Michael.

I haven't met Gabriel yet. Some say she's the most beautiful Angel in Heaven but she's like a rose. Beautiful but deadly due to her thorns.

Don't let her pretty face put your guard down. She was said to have the second to have the highest kills on devils aside from her brother, Michael.

Although such achievements weren't something that Angels are supposed to possess but this is war, God probably allowed the angels to kill as long as it was for the good cause.

Not gonna lie, I want to meet this Gabriel, maybe have a short spar with her just to test my limits.

Obviously I don't want to spar with Michael, he's feared even by his nemesis, Lucifer, for a reason.

Now that I think about it, I wonder what Zekram's plans are now especially since his trump card, Trihexa is gone.

"Since we won't be able to kill God through the Apocalypse Beast, we have no choice but to insert you five to help the Satans to kill him. You all no longer need to hold back. So break your chains and let yourselves free." Zekram spread his arms as he said with a grin.

Was that supposed to be some sort of editable catchphrase? Should I call TikTok editors to edit this scene or something?

As expected, he was the only one who was smiling here.

The others are awkwardly looking away while holding their laughs.

Yeah, I feel the same.

This should be the scene where Zekram would notice the awkwardness and say some lines like 'I swear that sounded better in my head' or something.

Sadly, the said dialogue didn't happen because Zekram didn't notice how awkward he sounded.

He continued the discussion without noticing us trying to hold our laughs.

As for me, putting aside the laughs, the content of his words made me frown in worry.

I need to put Ajuka and Serafall on my side.

I can't have them going all out against God or else I would be forced to expose which side I'm truly on and help God.

"Hold on." Sirzechs raised his hand and interrupted the meeting.

Sir, you're not an elementary student, what's with thr raising of hands for?

"Yes, Sirzechs?" Zekram tilted his head and answered him like a college professor.

"Let's put aside Big G and talk about the Seraphims. Like you said, Michael and Gabriel are both on par with the Four Satans. How would we handle them? Not to mention, the rest of the Seraphims and Archangels won't stand by when seeing Big G being surrounded by the Four Satans and us." His words made the others nod their heads and stare at Zekram for answers.

Zekram, just grinned.

"Well, I know about that and I for sure would have plans for that. Which is why I wanted to announce it to this meeting."

"Just this morning, I made a personal meeting with the leader of the Grigori, Azazel and we made a deal with each other." His answer earned a bunch of 'oohh's' from Sirzechs and the rest aside from me.

"We made a deal that they would support our Anti-Satan factio and help us kill Big G along with the Four Satans, in exchange for helping them settle in the Underworld. As you know, they have no permanent place to stay yet and they seemed the Underworld as a good place to establish their headquarters. So once we took control of the Underworld after the Civil War, we'll give them a place to stay." Zekram finished his word with a grin like he was some sort of a mastermind behind the scenes.

Too bad for him I've already taken that spot first.

Time to snitch and tell his plans to God then.
