Ch. 96 - The Great War! [33]

[Serafall PoV]

After receiving an emergency help from my ChamCham. It's only right for me, as his fiancee to help him out!

I'll make sure to rescue his students from the evil devil Zekram's clutches!

After wearing my war armor and preparing myself, I suddenly heard a knock on my door.

"Sera dear? Your father is waiting, he said you should hurry and join him in the barracks." On the other side of the door, I heard my mother's voice.

Before the start of the Great War, the sea monster Satan, Leviathan ordered our clan to join in the invasion of the human world. And now, I am forced to help the devils conquer the very same world that my fiancee used to live in.

Of course, Mom and Dad wanted to refuse the Satan as they know about ChamCham's situation but you can't exactly refuse a Satan as doing so would brand you as a traitor who does not follow orders.

To the devil race, a Satan's word is absolute and shall be followed to the person's utmost capability.

I hate it. I hate the Satans.

"In a minute!" I hurriedly said before facing the mirror once again and frowned.

"I don't look like a ninja at all!" I pouted and cast magic on my attire, changing it from the usual sleek armor to a simple black cloth that covered my entire body except for my eyes and two small holes on each side of the back of the head to let out my hair in twin tails.

Now this is what a great ninja such as myself is supposed to look like!

Ninja Serafall activated!

Once I was done with myself, I gave myself one last look in the mirror before walking out of the front door.

"What is it, mom?" After opening the door, I suddenly came face to face with my mother.

Oh no. I didn't expect her to actually wait for me to walk out. I thought she already left?

"What's with this uncanny suit you're wearing, Sera!? This is so unwomanly of you! " Her reaction was very within my expectations.

After all, she's an avid fan of etiquette, manners, and decorum. Seeing me wearing something weird as covering my entire body with tight black clothes made her etiquette senses tingle.

Don't even mention the mask covering almost my entire face except for the eyes. I look extremely weird in terms of norms in the Underworld.

"Don't worry, mom! Because I won't be joining Dad in this one!" I proudly said while crossing my arms to my chest to indicate that my decision was final and it wouldn't be changed.

Helping my fiancee is definitely more important than helping the devils destroy the world that my fiancee loves so much!

I saw Mom frown as she placed her hand on her hips and stared down at me with a squint of her eyes.

"Sera…don't tell me it's because of Chamber? We already talked about this. We can't exactly defy the Satans just because the order goes against Chamber's wishes? That is not how the world works." She tried to explain to me, perhaps to bring me back on the right path.

Sorry Mom, but the Satans are no longer my care. Only Chamber. He's the only one who matters.

"Just tell Dad and I promise you that he will understand!" Without further explanation, I just told her what was supposed to be told before conjuring a portal and left.

As his fiancee, do I look like I want to be left out of his unique magic system? Especially the portal spell.

This spell is so convenient that I'm even using it when I want to scratch an itchy part of my butt or even do things that I would not dare to disclose to anyone, maybe only to Chamber if he ever asked.

"You! Come back here young la-!" The portal closed before she could even finish her words.

Sorry, Mom, I'll make sure you understand it later once I come back.

Right now, I'm on my way to pursue love and by pursuing it, I shall prove myself to Chamber by rescuing his students from a very dangerous situation.

That Zekram guy is out of his mind. Knowing him, he might do risky things just to reach the end of his goals.

'Gotta hurry up then.' I whispered to myself before finally taking in my surroundings.

I just opened the portal casually while having the vague location in my mind.

Not gonna lie, now that I think about it. I'm actually so unprepared about this.

Maybe I should call Sirzechs and have him tell me the location? With him being what was it called by ChamCham again?

Blackmailed?

Yes, that's right with him blackmailed by me thanks to my undisputed information about his liking for having a sister, it was also the same reason why I received information from him about Zekram kidnapping four kids from the human world.

"Let's see. Let's call Sirzechs then." I muttered to myself and started to send him an Audio-Visual Communication spell and waited.

The climax of the war is now at its peak. Almost every Sorcerer under the Sorcerer Society and even some bypassing wizards have joined humanity's side.

Although despite it all, we still don't have the edge.

These devils are practically endless and I have to portal myself across several locations a few times just to assist those who got themselves in the losing situation.

Thankfully, while the devils are almost endless and strong, the same goes for the Angels.

With their help and combined with humanity's last line of defense which is us, the devils were unsuccessful in their attempts to cause chaos.

However, such a thing didn't last that long when the church arrived to help only for almost half of them to suddenly betray us and try to cause a commotion within our ranks.

Though thankfully they weren't that strong to begin with, it is still annoying that these guys were practically willing to bow their heads for the devils in exchange for something measly like power or more time to live.

Although this isn't the first time I have met a devil as being my former master Merlin's disciple, it is on our line of job to fight devils due to the evil Morgana Le Fae being in cahoots with the devils for power.

In fact, back then I was almost tempted by the devil's temptation. If it wasn't for my sheer will and love for Veronica, he would've long been a devil's pawn.

My thoughts were broken by the sound of several explosions from the distance.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Curious, I lifted my head and saw that the battlefield had grown quiet as two enormous giants of metal occupied the battlefield.

My eyes widened in surprise at the familiar sight of those two. In fact, I wasn't the only one as other sorcerers under the Sorcerer Society were also quite familiar with the towering giants.

The Mystic Guardians.

A few days ago or was it weeks? The Sorcerer Supreme presented us the Mystic Guardians and told us to try our best to replicate it.

We did and we were successful.

We have no idea where the Sorcerer Supreme brought those incompleted Mystic Guardians but he assured us that it would come to our aid during our greatest need.

Well, I guess he was right then. We are indeed in our greatest need and these big guys would be a huge help.

Thanks to the Sorcerer Supreme.

As the Great War raged on, Diorno breathed heavily. His eyes interlocked with a High-class devil smirking at him.

"A great exorcist hailed by the humans as one of the strongest and yet can't even touch a hem of my clothes. What a big disappointment for the church. Your figure of worship must be regretting having you worship him when you're nothing but a weak ant." Although his words were painfully true for Diorno but he knows that the last sentence isn't.

'He's just trying to provoke you, Diorno. Calm down. Don't be affected.' Diorno closed his eyes and breathed. Recovering his composure before opening his eyes again but this time, with determination.

"I won't let your filthy mouth speak ill of the lord." When he finished speaking, he lifted his huge, bloody fists and watched as a golden light washed over them.

The Holy Energy.

He had learned how to use his Holy Energy to its fullest potential as a result of this battle. How to control them and make use of them to strengthen certain body parts.

"Tsk. The obnoxious energy is back. If I did not know better, I would think I was fighting an angel rather than a human." He hears the devil click his tongue out of annoyance.

This is the only advantage he had. His new student is currently busy flying around the battlefield, causing chaos within the ranks of the devils.

His Longinus has proven to be very useful, almost their trump card against these devils.

"Surrender while you still have the chance, devil. You will lose this war sooner or later." He said to him, as if Diorno was merely stating a fact.

"Lose? We haven't even released our best ones yet. Not to mention, our glorious and magnificent Satans haven't graced you all with their presence yet. Once they do, you'll be the ones bowing and begging us for your lives." The devil grinned, not bothering to mask the arrogance in his tone.

"We shall see," Diorno replied in almost the same confident manner while cupping his palms together in a form of prayer.

"No matter how much evil comes our way. God will always prevail." He dropped before rushing forward with his fists cocked back.

The devil on the other hand, simply raised his fists to meet his while coating his fists with Demonic Energy to try to counter Diorno's Holy Energy coated fist.

Boom!

Tremor was caused by the collision of their fists and yet none of them were backing down. Each is confident in their strength to take down their opponent.
