43. Slow But Peaceful

The first ruin was much milder than the second one which contained creatures as powerful as the Mountain-Stage, making that journey a mighty suicide mission.

"Why don't we just go around it?" I suggested, and she shook her head.

"These ruins are large, they used to be entire cities before a great calamity befell them. Cutting straight through it would be much faster but more dangerous."

"We will be walking around its edge, and that alone would take days. Going around them would take much time thanks to the swampy marsh on both sides," she sighed.

"This is the best route I can suggest, it'd be less deadly than your suggestion, but we'd have to have our guards up."

We all nodded in agreement. Surprisingly, Devon and his brother remained unfazed, while Nura and Seinaru trusted their sister too much to doubt. It would be odd if I introduced doubt.
