Mob war (Part 3)

Agent (1): "Let me check."

Jenap: "DON'T."

The agent peeks over the wooden wall. Jenap, who is next to him, was surprised with a splash of blood coming from the agent's head after a bullet pierced through his head.

Jenap: "Oh no…"

Tommy: "Caramilo, I give you cover; try to see who the attackers are."

Caramilo nods her head; with all seriousness, she gets up from behind the wooden wall. Tommy then creates two wooden pillars, raising them from the ground in the direction of where he guesses the attackers are shooting from.

One of the pillars collides with a small tower that was part of the base, making it collapse and with it some of the attackers.

Caramilo carefully observes the scenery. She notices the black armor of the attackers with the logo of an organization they know very well.

Caramilo goes back behind the wooden walls right before the attackers shoot at them again.

Caramilo: "I found out who the attackers are; it's Underwire."

Tommy: "What? But we have Broker here…"

Caramilo: "Are they trying to free him?"

Tommy: "But it doesn't make sense; we completely took out the organization; there shouldn't be anyone left."

Caramilo: "Maybe Broker lied."

Tommy: "Or maybe this is all an act?"

Caramilo: "By whom?"

Tommy: "WATCH OUT!"

Tommy pushes Caramilo to the side; he notices one of the attackers standing on the tower beside them who is pointing his gun at them.

His arm then turns into wood with his hand turning into a sharp blade, which he elongates to the tower, piercing the attacker through his chest.

Caramilo quickly turns to the direction of SAC Jenap. She notices the attackers on the tower on the other side.

She creates a bow out of soul-aura, which is then attached to her hand; with her other hand, she creates an arrow, shooting it at the tower.

The arrow flies at a high speed, making a long, bird-chirping sound while being in the air before hitting the tower and creating a giant explosion at impact, blowing up the whole upper part.

Jenap turns to Caramilo, waiting for an explanation of what is happening.

Caramilo: "The attackers have pushed through; we are guessing that they are here for Broker, but we are also considering the possibility of it being an act of another organization."

Jenap: "Good job; we have to fall back into the building if that is true."

Tommy: "Let me handle this."

Tommy again touches the ground with his hands, quickly letting trees grow out of the ground surrounding them and the building entrance, giving them cover to retreat back into the building.

Jenap: "Everyone, fall back."

As Jenap shouts, she hears a disturbing sound from the distance, the sound of someone whistling a song, a song that makes her feel uncomfortable.

But she ignores it; she brings her attention back to retreating, waiting until everyone has retreated back into the building before she goes in.

Jenap: "Is everyone inside?"

Tommy: "Yes, everyone successfully retreated."

Jenap: "Good, close the doors."

Caramilo: "Wait, what is with Manu?"

Tommy and Jenap fall silent; both are feeling unwell about the decision they had made in their heads, but they also both know that they have to do what is best for everyone.

Jenap: "Close the doors, Tommy."

Jenap doesn't lift her head after giving Tommy the command; she falls into silence right afterwards, staring at the ground in sadness.

Tommy: "Very well."

Tommy lifts his hand, creating a thick wooden wall right before the entrance, blocking it. He falls silent too, and just like Jenap, he stares at the ground in sadness.

Jenap: "We are in war right now. Make sure that we have as many agents as possible available inside here and protect Broker; they will not get him under any circumstances."

Tommy and Caramilo both quickly run to assemble as many agents as possible, gathering all the weapons they have and also freeing Broker from his cell but binding him with handcuffs.

After their efforts, they sit on the stairs, mourning about their current situation.

Caramilo: "We shouldn't have let Manu outside; what if he is in danger?"

Tommy: "Do we know the same Manu? He has survived much worse situations than the one he probably is in.

Caramilo: "How do you know that?"

Tommy: "Because I have known him for a very long time now, wherever he is, he is probably fine."

…

Don opens his eyes; he finds himself outside next to the destroyed base. He looks around, hoping to find anything that could help him now; he then sees Yuri, standing next to a tree, trying to get an apple from its branches.

Dons: "You idiot, you could have killed me."

Yuri doesn't bother to reply to Dons; her focus is completely on getting an apple from the apple tree.

Dons: "I should have known that you are fucking crazy."

Yuri sighs loudly, turning half of the tree into ash and making it fall to the side.

She then grabs an apple and bites it.

Yuri: "This one is good; I like its sweetness."

Dons: "Are you even listening to me?"

Yuri: "No, all I hear is complaining after I saved your life and killed the Silver Flash."

Dons: "You killed him?"

Yuri: "I think so; who could survive an entire building collapsing on him?"

Dons: "Wait, so you didn't even check?"

Yuri: "Why should I?"

Dons: "Because we also were inside there, and we survived."

Yuri: "Yeah, but only because of my efforts."

Dons: "You are crazy."

Yuri: "So what was the plan?"

Dons: "Don't worry about it; while you and the Silver Flash fought, I sent out a group of armored soldiers dressed as Underwire."

Manu: "So that was your plan, I see."

Manu says from the distance, running at Yuri, trying to hit her, but in perfect timing she dodges his high-speed attack.

Yuri: "You are quick."

Manu: "And somehow, I can't hit you."

Yuri: "Don't worry about me; worry about your friends."

Manu: "I am not worrying about them; they can fight."

Dons reaches for his gun, but he notices that it isn't with him anymore.

Dons: "Shit, my gun."

Yuri sighs; she shakes her head, disappointed in Dons.

Yuri: "You were useless from the beginning anyways. Oh, I remembered something."

Dons: "Don't worry about me; we can get him. We are two against one."

Yuri: "But you should worry about yourself; the border baron gave me an order to punish you for your previous failures, but I wanted to play along with you for a while."

Dons: "Wait, what did you say?"

Yuri smiles again wickedly; she quickly runs at Dons to grab his face.

Manu: "No, not again."

Manu runs at full speed at her, but just as he thinks he's got her, he finds himself nowhere near her.

She had turned herself, except for the hand that grabbed Don's face, into ash, appearing right behind Don so that he is between her and Manu.

She peeks from behind Dons with her evil glance and wicked smile, laughing loudly while turning Dons into nothing but a figure of ash, which collapses shortly after.

Manu: "You are sick; weren't you working together?"

Yuri: "I had my fun with him, but orders are orders."

Manu: "Orders? You said something about the border baron; did he hire you?

Yuri rolls her eyes while grinning widely before holding her hand in front of her mouth.

Yuri: "Ups, did I really say that?"
