The fear of getting killed...? After living a decade in this hellish nightmare, sometimes the man wonders when death would embrace him. It did not matter if it was painful or not, as his ignorant younger self once did. After all, this was already the deepest depth that hell can possibly have. No, maybe even deeper. A man dropped right besides him, still like a stick and presumably dead. Disappointingly not for long, as not even a minute later, the man rose up again, as if magic has occurred. Then a whole bunch of massive, bare-chested figures with wings and white helmets swooped down to grab him from his place and headed him over to the farm at the top of a mountain that was cut in half. Nobody seemed to hear the man's pleas and begs as the emotionless figures dragged him away.
The workers on this planet called that farm the "Survive Zone", as anyone ranging from those not being able to work to those who just died from overworking and was revived were sent by being dragged by these winged beings. There, they would become toys to the sadistic people there. First you would be blindfolded, have your hands tied, and then a winged being assigns a pen to you. After you are assigned a pen, you are teleported to the pen, in which the horrors unfold. Some pens are just straight up torture such as whipping, being beaten with batons, or have molten metal be poured on you, whether that be your eyes, down your throat, or whatever is sensitive on your body. Other pens are just you being cut up or dismembered without anesthesia, which is quite painful (as you can imagine). However, there are some extremely fucked up pens, such as one where only women are put in and well, you could see where this would lead to. If one of them gets pregnant with a child somehow, then well they will cut open the woman, grab the fetus, and shove it in her mouth and force her to well, I'd rather not say. There were also other pens that were for males, however I would not like to get into that. These farms are also places where people are taken away by the guards for unknown reasons, and when they do, nobody ever sees them again. It was also impossible to die mentally as well, as whoever enslaved them had made sure to make them conscious and able to think, no matter how tired or broken they may be.
You have a set amount of time in your assigned pen before you teleport back to the scorching hot weather outside and continue your work. However, if you die before the timer ends, well the timer restarts and you are brought back to life, just for you to be stuck there until the timer ends.
The man thinks about how long it has been ever since the god they worshipped betrayed them and sent these white bastards to enslave them. The guards then rang the bell, signaling the start of a 5 minute break. The man sits down and tries to get some rest, even though he is as hungry as a bear and as thirsty as a desert. Of course, these are not provided, as god had made them basically immortal, with no need for food and drinks. It also made them stay their current age, non matter how many years may have passed. However, it did not remove the feeling of needing to eat or drink. A kid next to him started to start a conversation with him, however the man told him to go away, in which the kid obliged and sent away. The man wondered how that kid was able to still have energy to talk, as it had been nearly a couple thousand centuries since the monsters had arrived.
The kid walked over to his friend and called out to him.
"Hey Domfan!" The kid shouted, waving in the friend's direction. "Come over here for a second!"
"What is it Sero?" Domfan yelled back, appeared to be slightly pissed. "You know I don't like to be interrupted during my break, no?"
Sero and Domfan were now the only two members left in their party, Fragmo being killed by one of the guards during the events of the war that occured when the invaders that were ordered by god came to enslave the humans, Alegriso never coming out of the Survive Zone, and Amayako succumbing to her injuries before the invasion. The only one they were not sure of was Ellie, as she disappeared before the invasion. Domfan and Seron had been on the lookout for her for a very long time, speaking to everyone from the kingdom and beyond to see if anyone has met her.
The land was extremely barren, unlike before when there were vast amounts of towns, castles, and nature to explore. Now, they had to destroy large amounts of who knows what with these pickax-looking tools and carry them to a portal that leads to somewhere far from here, where they drop it into the portal. Nobody knows where the portals lead to as there are the white guards that guard the portals so that nobody goes into the portals. They also have to endure daily beatings from them, as they also see the humans as nothing more than toys to pass the time. Endure? Probably not, as these guys were literal giants, so one swing will likely cause you to drop more dead than a beheaded goblin (well, I can probably imagine that). Of course, this meant that you would be sent to the Survive Zone, as they did not give a shit if you got killed by one of theirs or not (damn, that's harsh).
Sero still remembered the peaceful days of him and his group of friends, before the invaders came, before the war against the invaders, before they lost almost everyone. The war wasn't really a war, as they lost only about a month in, however they only lasted that long because god thought that it would be good entertainment to see the humans' futile attempts at trying to prevent the inevitable. Sero was one of the remaining adventurers that fought against the white guards during the war, however that meant that after the "war", Sero and the other survivors were the main targets for beatings. Sero has been sent to the Survive Zone too many times, in fact so much that he no longer felt pain, despair or any other human features, as those were destroyed after repeated visits of torture and rape.
As Sero was about to say something, the bell struck again, indicating that the break was over (wait already? Wasn't it like only 30 seconds?) and it was time to break down the chunks of whatever the fuck these huge boulders were.
"Oh welp, seems like the guards did not like us today," Domfan said. "They usually let us have the full five minutes, but guess this time it is only like a minute."
Domfan left before Sero could say anything (damn, leaving your homie hanging like that?). It seemed like Domfan was growing more and more distant every year (wow you guys are counting in years now and not days).
As Sero watched the departing figure of Domfan, he also started to join the others to work.
That was when a random black box came up with white text in front of him.
It said, "Do You Want To Accept? 'Yes' 'No' ".
