Reincarnation (3)

What would death feel like? Would it be cold or warm? Will you feel like you are drowning or not? I have asked those questions many times and never knew the answer. Of course, who would have? Those who are alive do not know as they are not dead, and those who are dead aren't alive to talk about it. I know I'm stating the obvious right now, but it is true, isn't it? That day however, I died. No special build up, no clue who stabbed me, and no clue as to why nor their motives. Death felt like, well nothing really. Just a couple seconds of pain and then you're out. Who knew that my life could end so...uneventfully. Ahh, the misery my parents might feel, losing their son. Wouldn't be the first time however, as soon I will forget them. Actually, that's basically how it's been for quite a long time. Just a cycle, over and over again. After all, death really doesn't mean much to someone after they've been through it many times. But it still surprises me how it can be delivered sometimes, which is surprising as I'm a veteran at these things. I do not think that I made any enemies during my time there, however I guess when one becomes too powerful, there will always be someone jealous.

Anyways, should I just continue this life or not? Maybe I should, as I still have unpaid debts to fulfill. Also that girl, she seems familiar. I also don't want my parents to suffer as well. Yeah, maybe I should just continue this life for now. After all, like some wise guy had once said, "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". I still have to find out who stabbed me and what their motive was, then I could move onto other stuff. So, I decided to click the all so familiar 'yes' that wouldn't get off from the front of my face.

I woke up in the middle of the forest, well more specifically, on the path where I got a sword through my chest. I looked around, trying to spot the killer. I wondered why the heck Revenge's Wrath didn't activate, as it always does when someone plots to bring danger to me. Oh well, no need to dwell on little things like that. Before I continued my stroll down the path, I made sure to clean up my blood on the floor, cause the last thing I need is people questioning who had been murdered.

After cleaning up the blood, I continued down the path, not knowing the figure with a shiny black blade observing me from a tree.

I'm just kidding! I'm messing with y'all. Of course I knew where the figure was, just that I hadn't decided whether to deal with him or her now or track his or her movement. After much consideration, I decided to track her by secretly putting a spell on them so that I could track wherever they may be, just like any tracker.

Then I continued down the path and soon reached the town square. I looked at the contact info that Ellase had given me, which told me that I could find her at...an orphanage?

"Interesting..." I told myself. "Why would I be able to find her at an orphanage? Oh welp I guess I will know when I get there."

I know you all don't want to see me greet every single person in the town square, so I'll save you all the pain and skip to when I arrive at the orphanage.

So, when I came to the location, what I was met with was not a damn orphanage, but an entire hotel. And I thought that I knew every single place in the town square...wait I do. So where the hell did this place come from? I guess we'll find out.

I entered the so-called "orphanage" and was instantly given blindness 727125. Holy crap why is the place so brightly lit? It's not even dark outside! I stood there like an idiot for about a minute before my eyes adjusted to the light. I thought that all orphanages did not have proper funding and were old and crumbling unless they were in a church, however not this one. This one was just straight up a hotel, no questions asked. Actually, never mind that, I've got a question: what in the world is a hotel from the world I came from doing here?

As I came up to the front desk, I realized that there was no receptionist here. Unfortunately, there was no bell either, so I started to explore the place.

The interior of the hotel was just like a five star hotel: paintings of ugly people the size of the damn Eiffel tower, chandeliers everywhere (except these ones blinds your eyes), carpeted floors (these aren't even a thing yet in this world), fancy wooden doors, a huge, I mean massive, dining room with long tables with tablecloths and everything, big indoor swimming pools (and for some reason a outdoor water park as well), baths, and well you get the point.

As I was endorsing myself in the humongous place, something small smashed into me and I fell on the soft, carpeted floor. I stood back up and turned around to see the culprit, only to be met with a little girl that looked like she was only 5 years old.

Oh yeah, one thing to mention to you all that is completely off topic but pretty useful is that you know how pretty or handsome those artists draw the characters of a fiction novel and people just wouldn't stop simping over them? Well those characters, when you are in a fantasy world like mine, don't feel any different from the 3-D world ones. So next time you try to reincarnate yourself, don't expect all girls to be pretty, as they will not feel any different from the 3-D ones you all have right now. You will be able to tell who is your type or not , just like now (me trying so hard not to say ugly and beautiful right now).

Anyways, I lost track there. Where was I? Oh yes, the tiny girl that bumped into me. She was wearing, well pajamas and had sky blue hair with long ears. Wait, she's an elf? What is an elf doing here? Aren't they usually known to be quite reserved and won't exit the forest at all? But at the same time, she may have gotten lost in the forest and picked up, who knows?

As I was pondering this, the girl suddenly ran off, startling me. I tried to call out to her, however that just made her run even faster. So I chased her, trying to stop her so that I could ask where I could find Ellase. However, as I kept on chasing her, I lost sight of her and when I turned the corner, I was at a fork. I chose to go right, as I just did a fifty fifty guess, and it lead me to a door. I opened it, and what I saw was a large room with tables filled with a whole bunch of items. I looked at one of the tables and it contained books from the world I came from. It was confusing, however did not surprise me as this hotel was already weird. I went to another table, and it had a crap ton of blueprints and maps. I picked one of them up to see what was written on there. Interestingly enough, it showed a blueprint for a potion that allows you to change your face. I thought this was weird, as couldn't you do that with a spell. Everybody has some sort of magic, and it isn't that hard to find a spell to change your face. I picked up another one, which seems to be talking about wormholes or portals...I don't know, it's something like that.

As I was about to pick up an unusual book that seemed to be filled with pictures, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a familiar shiny, black blade just hidden in the corner.

I looked at my tracker, in which it read that the target was...right outside the door to this room.
