Echoes in the Dark

The transport screeched to a halt at the edge of the abandoned mining site, its headlights cutting through the oppressive darkness. The cavern stretched wide and deep, a vast emptiness barely illuminated by faint glimmers of bioluminescent fungi clinging to the walls.

Rusting equipment and collapsed scaffolding spoke of a once-thriving operation, now reduced to a graveyard of forgotten ambitions.
