The guttural growl echoed through the ruins, sending a chill down Tobi's spine. The creature emerged from the shadows, its massive form illuminated by the faint, pulsing light of the shard veins. Its elongated limbs shimmered with crystalline fragments, and its eyes glowed a malevolent blue. And it wasn't alone.
Behind it, smaller shard beasts began to creep into the chamber, their claws scraping against the stone as they surrounded the group.
"We're surrounded!" Matilda shouted, drawing her blade.
Tobi's heart pounded as he assessed the dire situation. The team had weapons, but against this many enemies—and that menacing creature—they were severely outmatched.
"Hold the line!" he said, raising his hand ready to attack. "Focus on the small ones first!"
