Gabriel found this to be nonsense. Why was this suddenly an issue when it happened a while ago?

"How much did Lord Blackthorn pay you to look into this? He is only doing it to take some of the heat off of Selene because she killed my mother," said Gabriel.

"I am not a man bought by Lord Blackthorn. I am already dealing with him and what he is accused of. Your accusation of him killing your mother or it being Selene doesn't mean what you have done can be overlooked," Eugene said, hoping Gabriel would drop his act.

Gabriel wasn't someone who couldn't be questioned.

"Which reminds me. Concerning the missing man Oliver Carleton, some people I spoke to said that during the time before he went around speaking about your ex-wife, a deal was made between the two of you," Eugene shared.
