The Unlikely Study Group

It was supposed to be a normal study session. The kind where everyone sits around with their textbooks, quietly flipping through pages, maybe cracking open a can of soda, and trying to focus for once.

It was not supposed to turn into a full-blown circus.

The MC arrived at the library a little earlier than everyone else. They found a corner table, pulled out their notebook, and wrote:

"I'm here. Let the chaos begin."

Lila arrived next, sitting down with a soft smile. "Hey, I brought snacks." She passed a bag of chips over to the MC, who scribbled:

"We're going to need more than snacks."

Julian walked in next, dramatically tossing their bag onto the table. "Alright, everyone, let's make this study session epic." They flipped open their notebook, which had "Study Time" written in big, dramatic letters, followed by doodles of Shakespeare in various poses.

Luca entered last, casually munching on a sandwich. "You all know I'm only here because you bribed me with cookies."

Milo, carrying a stack of textbooks so tall it was practically a skyscraper, sat down and adjusted their glasses. "I don't know why we need to study—I've already memorized the entire syllabus."

The MC quickly scribbled:

"Milo, we get it. You're a genius."

Julian, who had already gotten distracted, started flipping through their notebook and muttering lines from Hamlet aloud. "To study, or not to study, that is the question!"

Luca, eyeing the snacks, leaned over to the MC. "Is this a study session or an improv comedy show?"

"I vote for comedy," the MC wrote. "Much more fun."

Lila laughed softly, pulling out a notebook to try and keep everyone on track. "Okay, let's try to focus. We have an upcoming history test. Maybe we could all quiz each other?"

Julian snapped their fingers. "A quiz battle! Brilliant! I'll take the role of quizmaster. Prepare yourselves for the ultimate trivia showdown!"

The first question came, and Julian's dramatic voice echoed across the library. "Who was the first president of the United States?"

Milo instantly raised their hand. "George Washington."

"Correct!" Julian said, tossing their hair back, as if they had just completed the most dramatic reading of a monologue.

Luca rolled their eyes. "Okay, your turn, Julian."

Julian took a deep breath. "Alright. What's the capital of Mongolia?"

The room fell silent. Luca and Lila exchanged confused looks. Milo was flipping through a geography book, and the MC was scribbling furiously, already anticipating chaos.

Luca shrugged. "Beijing?"

"No! Ulaanbaatar!" Julian shouted, as if they had just discovered the secret to life.

The MC quickly wrote:

"This is why I don't study with them."

The rest of the study session turned into a series of random trivia questions, impromptu debates, and more snacks than anyone could possibly eat. At some point, they all started making up their own "facts," like how the Mona Lisa was actually a coded message from aliens or that Napoleon's hat was a secret time-traveling device.

Lila, trying to steer them back to reality, suggested they actually go over some material. "How about we focus on the important stuff? Like history?"

But by then, Luca was dancing around, pretending to be a historical figure. "I am the great Julius Caesar, here to conquer your minds with knowledge!"

Milo was already buried in a book, muttering, "This doesn't seem like a study group anymore…"

The MC quickly scribbled:

"A study group? This is madness."

By the end of the session, no one had actually studied. But everyone had laughed until their stomachs hurt. And in the grand scheme of things, maybe that was more important.
