Chapter 79: Gilbert Captain of the Royal Guard

Gilbert smiled as he witnessed his friend Raelia's resounding victory over the formidable Nazvretor.

However Wyriol the towering werewolf clad in gladiator armor, noticed this smile and let out an amused growl.

"Why do you rejoice in this victory, you arrogant fool of a human? Soon you too will join the afterlife."

Gilbert raised an eyebrow, surprised by the calm yet menacing tone of his adversary.

"You don't seem troubled by the death of your comrade?"

Wyriol let out a guttural laugh, baring his fangs before replying with icy confidence:

"Why should I be? We warriors of Etrakios have known the risks of the battlefield since birth. There is no greater honor than to die as a warrior."

Gilbert furrowed his brow but did not respond further.

Straightening his stance, he brandished his sword with determination and launched a series of precise strikes at the werewolf.

Wyriol in other hand counterattack

Gilbert then activated a spell from his earth magic.

"Earthen Enclosure!"

Massive walls of stone erupted from both sides of Wyriol, attempting to crush him like a vise.

But Wyriol roaring with fury, shattered the stone barriers with his powerful limbs.

"HUAAAA!"

Unleashing his wrath he lunged at Gilbert, cutting down several human soldiers in his path with a devastating swipe of his claws.

His cruel laughter echoed through the chaos.

"Do you think you can escape me?" he sneered.

With a single powerful strike, Wyriol sent Gilbert flying several meters away.

The knight struggled to rise, but a determined glint remained in his eyes.

Gilbert, focusing his magic once more, summoned two towering stone golems.

The massive creatures stood between him and Wyriol, ready to defend their master.

Wyriol laughed upon seeing these constructs.

"You think these toys will stop me?"

With a burst of brute force, he destroyed both golems in just a few punches.

He then charged at Gilbert, unleashing a relentless flurry of blows.

Despite his injuries, Gilbert managed to counterattack.

With a precise movement, he slashed Wyriol's eye with his sword.

"HAAAA!" the werewolf roared, his agonized howl piercing the battlefield.

Blood gushed from his mutilated eye, but instead of weakening, his rage only grew stronger.

Suddenly Raelia appear behind his back Intervene.

Wyriol felt a searing pain in his arm.

A fireball hurled with deadly precision by Raelia, had scorched his fur and flesh.

Wyriol turned to her, his fangs dripping with blood, and roared:

"How dare you interfere in my fight?!"

Raelia, unfazed, met his glare with a cold stare.

"This is war don't talk to me about honor when you attack the weak without hesitation."

Enraged Wyriol lunged at her, intending to tear her apart.

But Gilbert, seizing the opportunity, unleashed another earth spell.

 "Stone Spikes!"

Massive spikes erupted from the ground, piercing wyriol's legs and immobilizing him.

"HUAAAA!" the werewolf howled, his limbs paralyzed by the pain.

The human army, witnessing their captain and princess overpower such a formidable opponent, fought with renewed vigor.

The soldiers struck down the werewolves who sought to overwhelm them, shouting cries of victory.

Raelia stepping forward calmly, conjured a massive fireball in her hand.

With calculated precision, she hurled it at Wyriol.

The blazing sphere tore through his abdomen, leaving a gaping hole.

Wyriol staggered, his strength rapidly fading before collapsing heavily to the ground.

Raelia breathing heavily her gaze steely, lowered her bloodstained sword and declared:

 "This marks our victory."

The soldiers of Ednia, galvanized by her proclamation raised their weapons and shouted in triumph.

 "For Ednia! For Raelia!"

Raelia wiping the sweat and blood from her forehead, turned to Gilbert who was struggling to stay on his feet after the battle.

 "Gil let's go join Jonady."

Gilbert an exhausted but satisfied smile on his lips nodded.

"Yes, let's go the battle isn't over yet."

The two companions set off, leaving behind the remnants of an epic clash.
