Chapter 97: The Alpha Male

The battle between the two kings had begun, their blows raining down relentlessly—Jonady's sword clashing against Pryzor's massive war hammer.

The sound of their weapons echoed through the ruins of Isehein.

Pryzor, his face marked with the thrill of combat, flashed a feral grin as he observed his opponent.

"This human is impressive. I don't think Niolz would have been able to defeat him," he thought.

He swung his iron hammer in a brutal arc, aiming to crush Jonady's skull.

But Jonady dodged with remarkable agility and countered with a precise strike.

His blade traced a bloody gash across Pryzor's left cheek.

Surprised but amused, Pryzor suddenly whistled to summon his bear, Nandi. The beast, which had remained still until now, let out a ferocious roar:"GWAAA!"

With a mighty exhalation, the colossal bear spewed a torrent of searing flames, consuming everything in its path.

Reacting swiftly, Jonady used his magic to raise a dome of stone, shielding himself from the blazing inferno.

As the smoke cleared, Pryzor was now atop his mount, a defiant smile on his face.

"You know, we werewolves of Etrakios love to hunt our prey during our expeditions. It's in our nature. And today, Jonady Kaya, you are my prey."

Jonady glared at him with intensity."Monster," he shouted before dashing through the ruined streets of Isehein.

Pryzor patted his mount's back, and Nandi lunged after him.

The beast spewed flames, obliterating elven and dwarven buildings in its path.

Despite his exceptional endurance, Jonady felt the fatigue creeping in as he led the creature away from his allies.

He glanced back briefly to gauge the distance between himself and Pryzor.

But at that moment, Nandi gathered its energy and unleashed an enormous fireball, obliterating several structures.

The flames consumed everything, leaving behind a landscape of devastation.

Believing he had vanquished Jonady, Pryzor halted his mount and scanned the smoldering ruins, expecting to see his opponent's charred corpse.

But suddenly, a shadow descended from the sky.

Sensing imminent danger, Pryzor leaped off his mount just in time. Jonady, enveloped in an electric aura, was diving toward them from above."Lightning Comet!" he roared.

The attack struck Nandi with crushing force.

The shockwave, amplified by the lightning, reduced the gigantic bear to ashes, leaving no trace of the beast behind.

Now alone, Pryzor stood atop a nearby building, watching as Jonady emerged from the smoking crater he had created.

The Monarch of the Human Nation straightened, his piercing gaze locked onto his enemy.

Pryzor jumped down, landing heavily in front of Jonady. The latter called upon wind magic:"Gale Burst!"

But Pryzor swept the attack aside with a skillful swing of his hammer."You won't blind me that easily," he growled.

As Pryzor advanced, Jonady feinted and seized an opening. His blade sliced through Pryzor's right hand, sending his hammer crashing to the ground with a dull thud. Wasting no time, Jonady followed up with a direct strike, piercing the werewolf's abdomen and shattering his gladiator armor.

Pryzor spat blood, a painful rasp escaping his lips."Kwaaaa…"

Despite his grave injuries, he still wore that defiant grin.

Intrigued, Jonady asked,"Why are you still smiling, Beast King?"

Blood dripped from his mouth as Pryzor replied.

"Since my youth, when I became Alpha and took control of Etrakios, I have never met an opponent who could truly challenge me. But you Jonady Kaya, I am grateful to you. You are now part of the glory story of Pryzor the Conqueror."

With one last surge of fury, Pryzor lunged, attempting to bite Jonady.

But Jonady leaped backward, avoiding the attack."

I know how deadly your bite is, werewolf. I won't fall for that trick."

Pryzor let out a deep, resonant laugh that echoed into the night.

"Haha! You are truly fascinating, Monarch of the Human Nation but now, it is time for you to witness the true power of the Beast King of Etrakios."

He lifted his eyes to the sky, fixing his gaze on the full moon that bathed the city in an eerie glow.

His muscles tensed, his body began to change, and a terrifying aura radiated from him.
