The Battle with Leader

"Geodude! Magnitude!"

"Not so fast! Raiken! Karate Chop!"

Mankey immediately closes the distance between it and Geodude, Raising it's fist, channeling all it's power on the fist as it unleashes a powerful blow straight on Geodude's Skull.

Geodude rolls over away, fixing itself back up again and immediately using the Attack the moment ut got Chance.

The ground begun to shake, as the ripples of the attack reaches Raiken it jumps above to ignore the attack upon Max's command.

"Jump!"

Mankey was a strong physical attacker but only in close distance, basically Geodude have to buy as much distance over Raiken as it could so it could protect itself from getting slaughter and get time to use it's attacks.

"Rock throw!"

Geo dude smashed the rocks from it's arena, the rock flying straight towards the Raiken. Yes, it could prevent itself from ground moves while in air, but the lack of ground also prevented itself from changing it's trajectory. Since it was in air and with no way of changing direction, it was easy to track and hit it with Rock types move.

Raiken is hit by the Rock moves, it cross it's arms in front of it's face to lessen the damage as much as it could.

Raiken's fighting type resisted Rock type moves while Ground types affected it normally. Max would much rather prefer getting Mankey hit by resisted Rock type moves then Normal Ground type.

"Low kick!"

The moment Raiken lands on ground, it immediately ran towards Geodude, lounging it's leg back, ready to end the game.

"Geodude! Bulldoze!"

She cried in the desperate last intent to save her pokemon.

But as if the whole senses of Geodude froze as the kick nearing it reflected on it's wide opened eyes. Fear engraved in them.

And it landed.

The kick sends the Geodude slamming through the large rocks, destroying them in mere rubbles in the process, until it finally stopped plastered in the far end of the Gym.

Raiken landed on the ground, it's anger finally calmed down to some extent as it sees it's foe laying lifeless in ground.

"C... Challenger wins again!"

Ma...!

It shouts, Announcing it's Victory.

What the hell is wrong with his Mankey...!

The third trainer came as he took his stance.

Raiken spares a glance towards Max, and with a jod from him, Mankey takes his stance.

"Geodude! Go" He said, throwing his pokeball from which another Geodude appears.

"Battle Begin!"

"Geodude! Autotomize!"

Geodude focus it's energy lifting itself from ground even further and strange energy can be felt from it.

The move Autotomize doesn't normally belongs to the movepool of Geodude, but it's available if and only if the Geodude is raised from the egg. Meaning this trainer have been raising this Geodude from the egg.

This move basically raises the speed of Geodude by two stage and halves it's weight.

Since Geodude didn't weight much from the beginning, 20.00 Kg(44.1lbs), half of that would cut it to mere 10.00 Kg. Low kick is a move that does more damage to heavier target and low damage to lighter, basically Low kick will do lower damage on the now lighter Geodude.

The speed itself wasn't a problem, even if he raised Geodude speed 4 stage more, it would still be slower then Mankey. But it would be able to react faster now which might be a little troubling.

One glance at the trainer gave Max somewhat clue, the way he was sweating and nervous, he was giving his best. He would throw everything in his arsenal at him so he should be careful.

"Raiken! Karate Chop!"

Raiken jumps towards the Geodude in full speed. It's arms glowing with energy ready to strike it's foe.

"Geodude! Rollout!"

Rollout... !

Geodude wraps itself in it's arm, forming a ball like structure and rolling towards Raiken in full speed.

"Dodge!"

Raiken kicks the ground, changing it's path barely dodging the rolling Geodude.

"Now, Karate Chop!"

In mid air, Raiken twists it's body and slams it's fist directly on the Geodude.

The Geodude, eating the attack head on, crashes on the floor.

"Geodude!"

"Geodude is unable to battle! The challenger wins, hence completing his gym challenge and will be now allowed to challenge the Gym leader." The refree announces.

Everyone was awe at the sheer strength displayed by Mankey, even Max himself was. Seems Raiken wasn't playing around.

"Hmmm, interesting..." A voice echoes around the gym.

The light flashes on a far darker corner of the gym, the Gym leader-Brock, stood there.

He slowly steps in, closing the distance between him and Max as he took his position on the battle arena.

The trainer's bow down and immediately runs towards the audience place, the battle was gonna be destructive and they didn't want to come in his way.

"As you already know, I am Brock, Pewter's city Gym leader," He continued. "But as your condition is in right now, I am afraid it's not enough for you to secure Victory, you might leave right now and come prepared, after the battle starts, there is no going back..."

Brock, despite being shown as one of the kindest in anime, he was rather cocky when it came to his strength, especially in games, he lost to Red cause he took him for granted too, and right now he was repeating the same mistake. But the sheer imposing aura he released, it was apparent, he was gonna be ruthless.

The referee looks at Max, asking if he wishes to continue or withdraw.

Max sneered, was this dude trying to rile him up deliberately? How disrespectful was he?

"Do you really think I will withdraw after coming this far? You wish I would," Max said, pointing at Brock before continuing. "I vow for win, and I shall take your badge..."

"Fuhaha! A trainer should know when to give up, and you're going to challenge me knowing that you'll lose? Is that your Trainer's honor that refuses to let you give up," He continued. "Fine, then! Show me your best!"

As he says that, a Rotom drone enters through the windows of the Gym, it's wide eyes recording everything in sight and broadcasting it throughout the Kanto. It was an official Pokemon League Battle.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the Battle between the Gym Leader Brock and a trainer that just put their feets in the world of pokemon!"

The live battle was being broadcasted through every Pokemon Centre in the entire region. Even though People didn't had positive view of Max, they were still intrigued to what this Kid had to offer, after all even negative publicity was still an publicity.

"Battle begin!" The refree shouts.

"Geodude, Go!"

"Raiken, get ready!"

"I shall show you my Rock hard will that is evident even in my pokemon. Geodude! Magnitude!"

"Raiken, Karate chop!"

Raiken ejects itself towards Geodude in it's max speed. Withdrawing it's hand and channeling it's focus for a powerful strike.

"Geodude! Rock throw!"

Geodude respods to the attack of Railen with it's Rock Throw, Raiken crossed its fist to deflect the attack and immediately couters it with it's Karate Chop.

Geodude stumbles a bit back bit holds its ground barely unfazed.

Max grits his teeth, although Brock uses similar tactics to his Gym Trainer's, which was expected since he was the one who is training them and they must have picked up the tactics from him, his proficiency was indeed superior.

Even in the midst of battle, it appeared as if he was pointing out the mistakes his students did and showing them more proper way.

He used Bulldoze to have Raiken in air, and expect for attacking Raiken immediately, he waited until Raiken attacked, so when he used his own attack, it would disturb Raiken's path of attack and reduce the attack power while also hitting his own attack.

Max closed his eyes and took a deep breath, despite the same tactics from Gym Leader, ge had to find another way of countering it, and now, his whole focus needs to be in it.

"Raiken! Low kick!"

"Geodude! Smack down!"

He has Smack down?

"No! Raiken! Return!"

But it was too late as Geodude Grabs Raiken feet and slams it in ground several time and throws him in the pallet of Rock.

This is bad! This is bad!

Now any immunity Raiken had from Ground type attacks have been completely gone because of the move Smack down. Now instead of Taking Half Damaging Rock type Moves, he is would have to deal with a normal Ground type moves.

"Bulldoze!"

Geodude shakes the ground tremendously as Raiken in the Ground takes the attack head on.

Ma....

With trembling steps, Raiken stood up, breathing heavily. The Bulldoze have done descent damage, but as persistent as Raiken was, it wasn't enough to bring it down.

Not yet... Not yet...

"Raiken... Let's go with Karate Chop again!"

Mankey!

Raiken was back to it's feet now, as long as it was standing, it would never lose to the Geodude.

"Geodude! Rock Throw!"

"Dodge!"

Raiken, kicks the ground and jumps aside, easily dodging the attack but also had to abandon it's own.

This time Max had no intention of hitting the Geodude, not yet, he still wanted the Geodude to live, it was yet to fill it's purpose.

He wanted it to keep hitting Raiken with it's Rock moves.

"Raiken, Again!"

Ma...!

"Geodude, Rock Throw!"

"Dodge!"

The same repeated again, as if in the stalemate, none of the attack had hit anyone. But out of all this, Brock was the one who was at slightest disadvantage here.

Little by little, Mankey was closing it's distance.

If Mankey had closed the distance gravely then Geodude had no hope left as Mankey speed was thrice faster then Geodude, earlier he was successful at catching him off guard with Smack down, but the same couldn't be said again.

And there was no guarantee Geodude can even react to Mankey's attack at that low of speed, and there was no means of him increasing his own Geodude speed.

But he didn't needed to.

There was alternative, a move that lowered the foe's speed. So what if Geodude isn't faster and can't increase it's speed, it will lower it's foe's speed rather.

"Raiken, Again!"

This is my chance...! Brock thought as he imagined the desperate look on Max's face.

"Geodude! Rock Tomb!"

Geo! Dude!!

Geodude unleashes it's roar, many Rocks materializing in thin air as each one begins their slaughter on Raiken.

All this didn't fazed Max, as he was starting to get excited.

Perfect! Just what I wanted!

"Raiken, Don't move and take the hit!"

Mankey!

Following it's trainer's order, Raiken halts it's movement and waits for the Rock Tomb to hit it.

"What?!" Brock shouts in surprise, why isn't he even trying to dodge? He wondered but his mind immediately understold what it meant.

"No way!" He exhales. He never expected Max to play a move like that and what more was the attack was already launched and out of his control.
