The Conclusion of Battle

Rock Tomb. A Rock type move with 60 base power and 95℅ accuracy. But it wasn't what made this attack really annoying, it was it's extra effect that followed, it had 100℅ Chance to lower the speed stats of the foe it connects by one step.

And right now, Raiken was hit by that very same move, burried in the mountains of rocks, it pushes some aside coming out from all the rubbles.

Raiken breathed heavily. Yes, it was damaged, but not in the condition were it couldn't battle at all.

It let out it's battle cry, the aura flaring up as the immense power it released was enough to be felt by Brock too.

It was the Defiant ability of Mankey, the ability that raises the attack stage of a pokemon by 2 when any of other stats is lowered.

In this case, the one stage speed lowered by the move Rock tomb had caused it's Defiant ability to activate and raises it's attack power by 2 stage, meaning, it's attack powered have doubled.

Now calmed down, it looked at Geodude with it's piercing gaze, taking it's stance, it was ready to end the game.

The preparation all was for the Onix that was next, and now that the Geodude had filled it's purpose, there was no need for it.

"Raiken, Karate chop..."

Raiken immediately ejects itself towards the Geodude. Withdrawing it's hand and ready to strike the double power devastating Karate Chop on that Geodude's head.

"Geodude, Rock throw!" Brock said.

Geo! Duuude!

Extending it's hands towards Raiken, Geodude materializes many small Rocks and throws then towards Mankey.

But the moment that attack was about to hit Raiken, it disappeared from it's sight and reappeared behind Geodude.

Terrified, Geodude immediately tried to turn towards it, but before ut could even finish turning around, the fist hits it's face directly.

The blow so strong it causes the dust scatters around the Gym as the Geodude straight gets threw away slamming against the wall hard, falling in ground with it's eyes white and spiral forming.

"Geodude is unable to battle, Mankey wins!" Announced the Rotom Drone.

People's throughout the region who were watching the match stared at their screen, although they had seen many impressive fights was better then this, they were still impressed at the new challenger.

"Geodude return," Brock extending his pokeball towards the Geodude, calling it back in its ball.

Staring at Max, he let's out his laugh, "Ah ha ha! It itches! It itches! It's not everyday we get pushed to the corner like this! Onix, take the floor!"

He throws his second ball in, the ball snaps open and Onix, who was approximately 20 times larger then Mankey, takes the field.

It's large snake like rock body towering over Raiken, it's eyes fixed on Raiken as if a predator looking at it's prey.

Max clench his fist tight, this was the one pokemon he was wary of, Onix. It has such ridiculous Defense stats that even Raiken will have to face difficulty against it. That was the reason he needed that +2 attack on Raiken.

Despite it's ridiculously large size, it was really fast, so fast that the only pokemon in his entire team that could out speed it was Lux, Jerry and Needle, barely, and they had no move to inflict any positive damage to it.

But right now, even Max was worried, would the +2 be enough?

"Begin!" Rotom announced.

"Mankey, Karate Chop!"

"Onix, Harden!"

Mankey ran towards Onix on it's full might, it unleashed it's Karate Chop on Onix after reaching the hitting distance.

But before the attack landed, Onic let out it's battle cry, hardening it's crust even more increasing it's defense one step further.

"I'm an expert on Rock-type Pokémon. My Pokémon are impervious to most physical attacks. You'll have a hard time inflicting any damage. Come on!"

The attack did landed, but the damage was greatly cut down, saying it was totally unaffected would be hyperbole though as the damage, even though not ad much, was apparent.

But the Karate chop was never Max intention to begin with, A pokemon as large and heavy as Onix, it would be dumb decision to not take advantage of it.

Karate chop was merely there to disable it's Sturdy ability and for Raiken to close the distance, the real attack followed now.

"Raiken, Low kick!"

Yup, why not use a attack that literally does more damage to heavy opponent.

But what's this? Something seems to be... Wrong.

The crust of the Onix begins to crack and comes down crumbling.

Rwaaarr!!

"Onix, Smack down!"

Before Raiken could attack, Onix wraps it's tail around Raiken and slams it's in ground flat.

"Raiken!"

Raiken stands up again, it's legs trembling but managing to stand up.

Max was caught off guard again, he completely misunderstood the situation again. The possibility of Onix having Weak Armor didn't even crossed his mind.

Weak Armor is an ability that decreases the defense of the host but increases it's speed after each physical hit.

Ok ok... It's gonna be hard but it could be dealt with, no big deal... Just relax and think...

But a glance at Raiken who was really weakened by all those fight made him a bit worried though.

"Ok, Onix, Rock Tomb!"

Rwaar!

Nope!

"Raiken, return..." Max extended his Pokeball, calling Mankey back.

"Take some rest buddy..." He whispered, putting the pokeball back on his waist, carefully in the third from the front.

"Gonna switch huh? Do you think merely switching is gonna help you?"

Max sighed, he was gotten used to arrogant people mocking him to get him aggressive and make him blunder, it was really in affective to him anymore.

After a bit of thinking, with trembling hand and fully resolved, he picked out rge first pokeball on his waist.

"It all depends on you..." He whispered then threw the pokeball at the arena.

"Kaen!"

The pokeball snaps open, with it's arm wide spread, Kaen lands on ground.

Char!

She said, putting her hands on her hips with her chest puffed out.

"Ch.. Charmander?" Brock was speechless, was this kid mocking him?

Kaen opened her large Blue eyes, looking at the huge Onix towering over her, she did unnerved but kept her facade.

Max knew what Brock was thinking, Kaen fire type move is totally useless against Rock-Ground Pokemon like Onix.

But let's be honest, Charmander against Onix is way better then using Pikachu against Onix and commanding it to use electric type move like certain someone.

And besides, Kaen was his strongest and most reliable pokemon, this fight... Will help them both grown.

"Ready Kaen..."

Char! Kaen nods.

"Onix, Rock Tomb!"

Rwarr!!

Onix roars, hige boulder materializes in air and starts smacking against Kaen.

"Dodge!"

Despite everything, it was still Rock type move. A type which was infamous for low accuracy.

Charmander!

Kaen runs, dodging the attack one after another with almost majestic precision.

Entire evening of yesterday, she spent dodging those high speed attack from Pikachu, Rattata and Beedrill, attack this low was almost pathetic for her.

And how one increase the rate of low accuracy move missing even more? By decreasing the accuracy of the host.

"Kaen, Smokescreen!"

Charmander!

Kaen inhales the air then exhales thick black smoke, convering the entire sight of Onix as it was now left with nothing but thrashing around aimlessly.

"Onix!"

"Ok, Kaen..."

Max was still reluctant to use the move, it was still not perfect, sure Kaen was able to use it but not when she wanted. In the hole training session, she was able to use 3 Dragon Rage. But each came with after 2-3 intervals, meaning she still haven't mastered the move completely.

If he used thos move now and it failed, then he will be giving away Kaen's location... But still...

"Kaen, Dragon Rage!"

Charrr!!! Maaannderrr!!

Kaen again exhale the deep breath filled with her energy, the energy burst out of her mouth on the form of extremely hot breath. But unfortunately that wasn't Dragon Rage... It was just Ember.

"Onix, Bind!"

"No! Kaen, Dodge!"

But ut was too late, The speed of Onix itself was too fast. It wraps it's tail around Kaen in lightning speed immediately raising her up and constricting with full might.

Charr.....

Kaen squirms in pain, she spits an Ember again at Onix face but it was unfazed.

"Onix, Smack Down!"

"Ahh... Kaen, Dragon Rage!"

Kaen tries to unleash the move again, but the bind on her body tightened more making her cough hard, nullifying the attack from being launched.

Onix raises it's tail and smacks Charmander hard in ground.

This should be over for Charmander, or so that's what it thought when it withdrew it's tail from the dust.

From the midst of dust, A hot burning flame shots it's way up, hitting straight on Onix face.

Kaen eyes was fully closed as she channeled her whole power into the attack, refusing to give up. It looked less like Ember and more like Flamethrower at this point.

"Onix, finish this, Smack Down again!"

"Kaen, Dragon Rage!"

The ongoing of Kaen's attack stopped as she withdrew her mouth, channeling her energy wholly as she fires of yet another blast of fire.

The Onix still unfazed reaches towards Kaen.

But suddenly as if something snapped inside Kaen, her eyes flashes open, amd narrows down angrily as the force behind her Fire power increases even more.

The fire slowly changes into Deep shade of yellow in core and Blue in its body, hitting straight on Onix.

Rwaar!!

Onix attacks stops as it cries on agony, almost like it's body being pierced by thousands of needles, the pain unbearably tough.

"Onix!"

Suddenly, Kaen eyes flashes even more as strange energy begins to envelope her wholly.

The energy surrounds her body completely as it starts growing rapidly, her eyes now now full of fire and her fire in tail grew even fiercer.

Charr!!

Her voice itself wents from soft high pitched to more mature and deeper.

The attack finally stops and the energy subsidies as well. Kaen originally Orange body now was completely Red.

Chameleon!

It let's out it's cry, releasing Ember, flexing it's now several fold stronger fire power.

Onix froze, but slowly and suddenly falls down, it's eyes rolling inwardly.

"Onix is unable to battle, Gym Leader is out of pokemon, So victory goes to Challenger Max." Rotom announces.

"I... I won?!"
