Chapter 130: Execution of Hidan

As Shikamaru supported Asuma, preparing to retreat, he turned to Kirito. "The guy lying down is Hidan, and the one crouching is Kakuzu."

"Hidan can curse others, and the cursed person suffers the same injuries he inflicts on himself. The medium for this is blood. Whatever you do, don't let him get any of your blood."

"And that ninjutsu of his only works within that red ritual pattern."

"Understood. Thank you," Kirito nodded.

Even though Kirito already knew about Hidan and Kakuzu's abilities—information that had cost Asuma his life in the original timeline—he felt it necessary to show his gratitude.

On the other side of the battlefield, Kakuzu silently manipulated his black tendrils, reaching into Hidan's lumbar spine to realign it while analyzing Kirito's identity.

"Byakugan… exceptional medical ninjutsu… This must be the dangerous Hyuga Kisame warned us about," Kakuzu thought grimly.

He recalled a previous mission where Konoha's forces had pursued the Akatsuki. Kisame and Itachi had used clones to stall the pursuers. While Itachi's strategy succeeded, Kisame's clone had been overwhelmed by a Hyuga prodigy who dismantled his defenses. Back then, Kakuzu had dismissed Kisame's warning as an excuse. Now, seeing Kirito firsthand, he couldn't ignore the threat.

As Kakuzu finished repairing Hidan's spine, the scythe-wielding Akatsuki member staggered to his feet.

"Thanks, Kakuzu. I can finally stand up," Hidan said, twisting his waist. "Feels great!"

"Don't overdo it, or you'll be back on the ground," Kakuzu muttered.

Ignoring the advice, Hidan retrieved his scythe, pointing it at Kirito. "You humiliated me! I'll make you suffer the worst pain imaginable! Hahaha!"

Kakuzu, meanwhile, discarded his tattered cloak, revealing his stitched body. Four black, masked monsters emerged from his back, each representing a different chakra nature.

Hidan, still clutching his necklace, screamed to the sky, "Lord Jashin, watch closely as I sacrifice this blasphemer to you!"

Before Hidan could finish his prayer, the monster with the light blue mask collapsed, disintegrating into a puddle of black water.

"Hey, Kakuzu! What gives? One of your pets just dropped dead!" Hidan yelled in annoyance.

"That was the heart linked to my water attribute," Kakuzu replied calmly. "It must have been destroyed when he severed my arm earlier."

Kirito stood silently, analyzing the situation.

[The fallen one was the water-attribute heart, likely tied to the arm I cut off. Kakuzu seems to favor water as a substitute. Does that mean water is his weakest element?]

As Kakuzu formed a hand seal, he said with a sinister grin, "I'm looking forward to claiming your heart."

"Hey, he's mine!" Hidan snapped.

"Same rules as always. Whoever finishes him off first gets him," Kakuzu replied.

The orange-masked monster opened its mouth, releasing a concentrated charge of lightning.

"Lightning Style: False Darkness!"

A spear of pure lightning shot toward Kirito at blinding speed, illuminating the battlefield with its intensity.

"So fast!" Shikamaru exclaimed, shielding his eyes.

Before the lightning could connect, Kirito disappeared, reappearing mid-dash toward Kakuzu and Hidan.

"He's coming to me? Perfect!" Hidan grinned, swinging his scythe at Kirito.

"Asuma, he's going to get hurt!" Shikamaru shouted in panic.

But instead of dodging, Kirito reached out and caught the scythe with his hand, stopping it mid-swing.

"What?!" Hidan's jaw dropped as Kirito held the blade unscathed.

With a swift yank, Kirito pulled Hidan toward him. As Hidan flew through the air, the blue-masked monster appeared behind him, charging a wind-based attack.

"Wind Style: Pressure Damage!"

Kirito calmly grabbed Hidan by the neck and used him as a shield.

**Boom!**

The powerful wind blast obliterated the square, sending debris flying and even destroying the nearby public restroom.

"What kind of ninjutsu is that?!" Shikamaru shouted, gripping a tree for support.

When the dust settled, Kirito stood unscathed in the middle of the ruined square, holding Hidan by the throat.

Hidan, unfazed by the destruction, complained, "Kakuzu, could you not use Wind Style near a restroom? It reeks now!"

Turning his attention to Kirito, Hidan sneered. "Using me as a shield? That's disrespectful to Lord Jashin! Take this!"

Hidan stabbed a spear into Kirito's chest, but instead of blood, a chilling frost spread from the wound.

"What?!" Hidan exclaimed, feeling the cold seeping into his hand. "You're… ice? Is this a clone?"

Kakuzu narrowed his eyes. "Ice Style?"

Before Hidan could react further, Kirito placed his other hand on Hidan's forehead.

"How are you going to kill me? Hahaha! I'm immortal!" Hidan laughed hysterically.

The laughter stopped abruptly as a spectral figure of the King of Hell emerged behind Kirito, its massive face bearing the word "King."

A chilling aura of death enveloped Hidan, rendering him speechless. His immortal confidence shattered as he stared into Kirito's unyielding Byakugan.

"Go meet your god," Kirito said coldly.

With a swift motion, Kirito pulled Hidan's soul from his body and fed it to the King of Hell, which vanished as quickly as it appeared.

Hidan's body went limp, lifeless without its soul.

Casually tossing the corpse aside, Kirito turned his gaze to Kakuzu, who now stood alone, visibly shaken.
