"Momoshiki…" Naruto and Sasuke instantly tensed at the familiar voice, bracing themselves for a formidable confrontation.
If Momoshiki had appeared in his usual form, neither would have been overly worried. They had already defeated him once in direct combat. But now, he had manifested through Boruto's body, making it impossible for them to fight at full strength.
Naruto, in particular, felt torn. Unlike Sasuke, who had made peace with the idea of killing Boruto if necessary, Naruto, as a father, couldn't suppress his hesitation. He found himself restrained by his emotions.
Momoshiki noticed this hesitation and smirked. After giving Naruto and Sasuke a fleeting glance, he shifted his attention to Kirito.
Like Isshiki before him, Momoshiki didn't recognize Kirito, but he couldn't ignore the conspicuous Rinne Sharingan on Kirito's forehead. "The Rinne Sharingan… Do you have some connection to Kaguya, who consumed the chakra fruit?" he asked, suspicion lacing his tone.
"It doesn't matter," Kirito replied calmly, extending his hand toward Momoshiki's head.
Momoshiki, fully aware of their intent in waking him, attempted to evade Kirito's grasp. But as he moved, a powerful force dragged him back toward Kirito, preventing any escape.
Realizing he couldn't avoid the confrontation, Momoshiki conjured a sharp black rod in his hand and struck at Kirito's extended arm.
Clang! The rod shattered on impact, the pieces falling uselessly to the floor. A silvery-white aura shimmered over Kirito's skin where the rod had struck.
Before Momoshiki could react further, Kirito's hand closed around his neck. Momoshiki immediately felt his chakra and energy being drained away at an alarming rate.
Desperately, he raised his right hand, marked with the Karma seal, and shouted, "Then let's see if you can handle this!"
With a swift motion, Momoshiki created a Rasengan, enhanced by his unique ability Gao Huang Chan Ling Zun. The small sphere quickly expanded into a colossal spiraling mass of energy, pressing heavily above everyone.
Naruto gasped at the sight. "If that falls, Boruto will be affected too!" He stepped forward, prepared to intervene.
"Wait!" Sasuke stopped him, keeping his gaze fixed on Kirito. "It's not that simple. Let's see what Kirito does."
Momoshiki slammed the massive Rasengan down toward Kirito, determined to obliterate him. Yet, as the energy sphere made contact, it twisted unnaturally, as if caught in a vortex. Under the influence of Kirito's ability, the Rasengan was absorbed entirely, dissipating into nothingness.
"What?!" Momoshiki gasped, now completely drained of chakra. His limbs hung limply, and he could no longer resist as Kirito held him in place.
A black portal opened behind Kirito. Without a word, he stepped into the void, dragging the weakened Momoshiki with him.
Naruto instinctively moved to follow but stopped himself. Kirito had warned them not to enter this space. Instead, he turned to Sasuke. "Can you locate that dimension?"
Sasuke activated his Rinnegan, trying to pierce through the void. After a moment, he shook his head. "No. I can't see into it. I'd have to enter to know more."
Before Naruto could respond, Kirito reemerged from the portal, carrying an unconscious Boruto in his arms. Momoshiki's presence was gone.
"Boruto… is it done?" Naruto asked, his voice heavy with concern. He immediately noticed that Boruto's body had no signs of life, and even the trace of Momoshiki's chakra was gone.
"Yes, it's done," Kirito confirmed, gently laying Boruto's body on the ground.
Everyone gathered around anxiously. Naruto knelt beside his son, his hands trembling. "What now?"
Kirito didn't reply immediately. He extended his hand toward the King of Hell, still present in the room. The spectral figure opened its massive mouth, releasing Boruto's soul, which floated gently toward Kirito.
Kirito caught the soul and guided it back into Boruto's body, which began to emit a faint glow as the process unfolded. Boruto's chest rose slightly, and a heartbeat followed.
"The rest depends on Boruto's will to live," Kirito said, stepping aside to give Naruto and the others space.
Naruto sat beside Boruto, gripping his hand tightly. "Come on, Boruto… you can do it."
Moments later, Boruto's eyes fluttered open. "Dad…" he murmured weakly.
"Boruto! You're okay!" Naruto exclaimed, pulling his son into a tight embrace.
Boruto sat up slowly, looking at his right hand. The black markings of the Karma seal were gone, replaced by a pure white mark. "What is this?" he asked, confused.
Kirito explained, "That's a White Karma. When a Karma loses its connection to the Otsutsuki's soul, it becomes inert, leaving behind a harmless mark."
Naruto and Boruto both sighed in relief.
Sasuke, observing the events, turned to Kirito. "That technique with the King of Hell… is that an application of the Rinnegan?"
Kirito nodded. "It's an advanced combination of the Human Path, Naraka Path, and Yin-Yang Release. It's not as versatile as the Rinnegan's natural resurrection ability and can only be used in specific circumstances."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Can I learn it?"
Kirito pulled a scroll from his sleeve and tossed it to Sasuke. "That depends on your talent."
Caught off guard by the gesture, Sasuke stared at the scroll for a moment before muttering, "Thanks."
As Boruto tested his newly freed body, Naruto couldn't hide his joy. "You're finally free from Momoshiki."
Boruto grinned, looking at the white mark on his hand. "Yeah. Thanks, Kirito."
Kirito observed the father and son with a faint smile but remained deep in thought. This encounter had taught him just how complex the Otsutsuki truly were. Even with his power, fully eradicating their influence required meticulous planning and extraordinary effort.
The Otsutsuki clan had much more to uncover, and Kirito knew his journey of understanding was far from over.
