Through a curtain of snow, that clear, crisp voice pierced through.
Conrad whipped his head around. Amidst countless snowflakes, the face that had haunted his dreams night and day suddenly appeared.
Just as he remembered,
A smile full of spring, like it was several years ago.
Bit by bit, it etched out everything.
Melody stood holding an umbrella, with another in her arms, her eyes wide with shock.
"What are you doing here?"
Conrad gazed into the clarity and openness in her eyes, and suddenly felt a pang in his heart.
It was clearly the look of someone who had moved on.
After a moment, Conrad finally spoke: "Business meeting. I was passing by, ran into Mr. Soren, and we chatted for a bit."
Passing by... this neighborhood?
Melody was a bit dazed.
Soren chimed in at the right moment: "Why did you come down again?"
