Everest was the final commander of the last bastion, Cradle. Confronted by the imminent destruction of humanity through the monstrous abominations of the apocalypse, he wielded the weapon that would burn land asunder.
"For as long as humanity does not stand upon the throne of the world, none shall."
He brought down nuclear hellfire to the abominations that had cornered mankind to the brink. Destroying the surface of the world in the process. The human civilization ended with an atomic spectacle.
And he could finally rest after fighting for decades.
With the conclusion of humanity's tragedy, Everest could finally rest after fighting for their survival since the beginning of the outbreak. Or so he thought. Perhaps destiny hated him with all it had.
After all...
He was roused from his comforting slumber, back to where it all had begun. The final days when humanity stood at the apex of existence. Was this a cruel joke to make him relive forgotten tragedies? Or was it a second chance?
[ Congratulations, Everest! ]
[ You have initialized the Apocalyptic Leveling System! ]
Well... from the looks of it, there was no doubt it might be the latter.
How do you survive the apocalypse with a leveling system?
an interesting take on the apocalypse genere
