The Full Moon...

Evelina lay rigid in bed, staring blankly at the wall opposite her while Damian shifted slightly beside her. The silence between them was anything but comfortable, each rustle of the sheets, each small movement, only amplified the electric tension that lingered in the air.

Relia's voice, usually brash and sarcastic, now sounded almost smug as it echoed in Evelina's mind. "Feeling warm yet?"

Evelina gritted her teeth. Quiet, Relia.

"Don't blame me. Look outside—full moon. It's not my fault you decided to bunk with your mate on a night like this."

Eve's gaze darted to the window, where moonlight spilled in, bathing the room in a soft, silvery glow. A ripple of unease coursed through her.

From Evelina's memories, she knew about the effects of a full moon on wolves, but nothing had prepared her for the sudden heat blooming low in her abdomen.

Beside her, Damian shifted again, letting out a low, frustrated sigh.
