CHAPTER 71

"We don't have time for this, Sky," Julian snaps, his voice sharp with urgency. "We have to go. Now."

I shake my head, planting my feet. "I'm staying. One of us has to override the system manually. It's the only way."

Julian's hands curl into fists at his sides. "Then I'll do it. You and Jasper get out of here."

"No!" I practically shout, chest tightening. "I started this. I'm ending it."

"Sky—" Jasper starts, but I cut him off with a look.

I'm not going to argue with him. We don't have time.

Julian and Jasper trade a glance-one of those silent, infuriatingly male exchanges that make my blood boil. Then Jasper lunges.

Hard. Too hard.

I catch the motion only in the flash before something blunt meets the side of my head. A white-hot pain shoots behind my eyes. My vision blurs and the ground tips precariously.
