Beginning and Goodbye(3)

Pushing himself to find the seed, Zylan got up to search. Alot weighed on his mind and it would only build up going forward. Zylan was a man who did not want to shy away or hide his emotions but now he had to contradict his very belief and detach himself. He could not go forward they way he was right now. His life was growing more painful and at some point he was bound to break.

Ignoring this fact, Zylan hurried to start searching. On the Clock tower's top floor were 5 different rooms. The clock tower used to be a place were people of ascended level worked together to find a safer and easier way to advance to Planetry level. The Clock tower was for scientists and mages of great power who tried to advance to higher limits. The upstairs was a place were the most powerful watched over them.

In all honesty nobody was allowed to the top floor. Nobody even knew who the person on the top floor was, it was higly classified information. All people knew was he was above ascended level. They're were very few people above Planetry level , no more than 10, they were powerful beings in possession of some of the most treasured artifact to ever exist. So with this thinking he believed that the seed would not belong to someone of ascended class. That is why he wanted to start at the top where it was most likely be.

To Zylans suprise, it wasn't very well hidden. Infact it was in the first room he searched. The seed was a sapphire blue oval no bigger than a apple and emitted a faint aura. The seed seemed to already have had some essence stored which worked well in his favour because he wasn't sure he'd have enough.

Zylan let out a long sigh.

For the next 2 days all he would be doing was nothing.

He would be doing nothing alone.

Zylan had been alone many times before yet it didn't seem the same. He had died so many times before yet they still remembered each other this time. This time he'd truly be alone. He was scared. Scared of many things. What if he failed? What would happen?

He had once last chance. He had created this opportunity for himself. He must go through with it. He would meet Tilly again. It was not goodbye just a see you again where she would not who he was.

Just like that 2 days passed, he slept, ate and washed. He spent the 2 days relaxing before it all began again. He was preparing to go back through awakened school, getting a job everything all over again. Possibly even childhood if he went far back enough, which was higly unlikely.

This lifetime had been on the shorter side for him accumulating to 50 years. It was a record time to get to ascended. Once one gets awakened there expected life span increase drastically and once one managed to reach Planetry level it is said that you live for thousands of years. In comparison to a human life, that is practically immortal.

Zylan reached planetry level a few times it took a long long time. And so another goal of his was to speed up the time it takes to get to Planetry level. So as much as he hated the Clock tower, he also needed it. The Clock tower housed some of the most powerful people in human history and if they all managed to ascened to Planetry level or higher it would change the way the world worked.

His last day passed by quickly. He sent his essence into the seed one more time before walking to the small fire pit he had built. There were no kitchens on the top floor so he had to make his own fire to cook food on. He had saved the best food for last.

A while ago , on his treck to the Clock tower, he faced off against some high ranking Minotaurs which were nearly 50 meters tall. He managed to kill them and strip one of some of its meat. Minotaurs meat was well known for how tasty it was. Unfortunately Minotaurs were extremely rare and could only be hunted by high level blessed being or above so Minotaur meat was scarce making it a rare delicacy.

Once Zylan had his food it was a matter of waiting till the moon rose to its highest peak.

Gripping the seed Zylan walked to the balcony where the Clock was right above his head. Once the clock striked midnight he would activate the seed. To activate he had to mentally command his essence to combust once the essence exploded it would activate an intricate puzzle within the seed once it was all in place it would start working.

It was useless to make any real sense of it because it only happens over a matter of a second. Although if people managed to understand the fundamentals of time travel it would be a game changer. All be it dangerous but would most definitely improve human technology. A leap in understanding. Zylan didn't plan to do that though.

Zylan watched the moon slowly roll over the the vast expanse of land. Finally the moon settle above his head and the Clock struck the midnight bell. Loud ringing shrecked across the sky. The deafening sound ways shot into Zylans ears.

After what felt like forever Zylan finally commanded his return to the past.

Zylan could feel the moon and sun spin back and forth in a circular motion. Like a movie on rewind. The feeling was nauseating. Unvoluntarily, he was moving backwards walking back down the steps, back outside. Back to the school, to Tilly. As he went further back he drew closer and closer to his new beginning. He could feel the vomit filling his stomach travelling up his body. He tried his hardest not to be sick.

The passage of time was a weird thing and he was becoming a victim of it. He could feel that the speed at which he was moving was so fast it was unfathomable to humans. The feeling he was feeling made him regret so many choices he had made. All the pain he had felt was rushing back to him. The pain of being stabbed, bitten at, exhaustion, being debilitated. All the injuries he had suffered from, all attacking him in the short span of a fews minutes.

He let out loud screams of pain but it didn't stop. No. He was traveling much further than he had ever expected. He wondered who could be possible of sending so much essence into the seed. Even through the pain and regret, he was grateful that someone had powered it because now he could truly start from the beginning of his life. He was traveling not only through this life but all his others. His accumulative time alive was an astonishingly high number.

And now he was re-living it all in a matter of 5 minutes.

After what felt like an eternity, time finally slowed down, he finally managed to re-open his eyes. The pain and jabbing was still kicking at him, sharp and fast. He did not wish this upon anybody apart from the heavens.

Once he opened his eyes a horrible realisation dawned upon him.

His body was small frail and weak. He could be broken as easily as it was to rip paper. His body was undeveloped and he lacked strength. His voice could not form words and instead small cries that only a newly born infant would make.

Zylan had been pushed back thousands upon thousands of years. Straight back to his birth. He had to re-live life from the beginning.

Once he realised the situation he couldn't help but pass out.

The black darkness filled his eyes once again.
