Questionable Jokes

After what felt like an eternity in Heaven, the family finally made their way back home to Hell. As they descended into the infernal depths, the familiar heat and dim glow of the underworld were almost comforting—*almost*.

The moment they landed, Kikidori stretched and yawned dramatically. "I'm tired," he announced, dragging his feet toward the nearest chair.

Kael, still annoyed from the church trip, shot him a look. "You're *always* tired," he retorted, crossing his arms.

Kikidori smirked, clearly not one to let a jab go unanswered. "Not as tired as your dominant hand every night," he said casually, leaning back in his chair.

The room went silent for a beat, and then Ere'ana's voice cut through the awkwardness like a blade. "What does that mean?" she asked, her angelic face twisted in genuine confusion.

Kael's eyes widened in panic, his face turning as red as the hellfire surrounding them. Kikidori, without missing a beat, grabbed Kael by the shoulders and shoved him forward like a human shield.

"It's his hand, not mine," Kikidori said smoothly, his expression completely innocent.

Kael turned around, glaring daggers at his father. "You're unbelievable," he hissed, his voice low enough that Ere'ana wouldn't hear.

"What was that, Kael?" Ere'ana asked, her head tilting as she looked between them.

"Nothing!" Kael blurted, stepping back quickly.

Ere'ana's eyes narrowed slightly, but she decided to let it go, shaking her head as she headed toward the kitchen.

As soon as she was out of earshot, Kael turned to Kikidori, his face still burning with embarrassment. "Why do you always do this to me?"

"Because it's fun," Kikidori replied with a shrug, a smug grin plastered on his face.

Yumi and Akuma, who had been watching the exchange from the couch, burst into laughter. Even Aralyn, who didn't fully understand the joke, giggled just because everyone else was laughing.

Kael groaned, running a hand through his hair. "This family is ridiculous."

"And you love us for it," Kikidori said, smirking as he leaned back and closed his eyes.

Kael muttered something under his breath and stormed off to his room, leaving Kikidori to bask in his victory.
