I wasn't sure how to approach as I walked towards Melanie. A hug? A handshake? Just a simple hello? None of it felt entirely appropriate. Not that it was inappropriate to hug your sister but well, it was just awkward.

Melanie seemed to think the same thing when I got to her and I could see the slight hesitation in her eyes. "Hi Connor," she smiled as she stood up. She fiddled with her rings a little.

"Hi Melanie," I cleared my throat then held out the tulips, "I got these for you."

Her smile became bigger as she took them from me with gentle hands then beamed. "Thank you Connor. I love them." We both nodded before I let out a nervous chuckle. She sat down and I followed suit. "Sorry I didn't order you anything. I wasn't sure what you'd like."

"No problem," I picked up the menu and a waiter magically appeared.

"Are you Connor Rennison?" The younger man was practically shaking as he held his little note book.
