CHAPTER 33: THREAT AND KILLING

The night passed, and the three returned to their apartment. Maybe it was because Laura and Lucia were forcefully awoken, but they slept until eleven am the following day. They entered the office, embarrassed, and saw Antonio already there, while Wallace was sleeping on a chair.

"Good morning," Laura greeted Antonio.

"Good morning," Antonio replied, whispering,

"Let's not disturb the boss."

Wallace woke up with a drowsy voice,

"You've arrived."

Laura and Lucia nodded.

"What should we do next, boss? Should we get in touch with Maximus Corporation?" Laura asked.

"Not yet, we still have time. Let's deal with the old man from Storm Corporation. I'm going to give him until twelve am tomorrow morning. By tomorrow, we must officially take the mantle of Storm Corporation. Depending on whether he agrees or not, we might have a funeral for him in a few days. After that, we'll communicate with Maximus. I believe that by then, we'll have achievements that will make them fear us," Wallace said.

"Hmm, good idea," Laura said.

"So, we have nothing to do today. Let's just rest, or we might have some things to deal with," Wallace said.

"Well, I think we have to get our vegetation business running in this country back," he added.

Just then, someone knocked on the door. A man wearing a black suit entered.

"The president wants to see you, sir," he greeted Wallace and conveyed the information.

Wallace's car arrived amidst an envoy of cars at the Crowne Plaza hotel. They made their way to one of the two presidential suites in the hotel. The door was opened for him, and he made his way inside, where he saw a middle-aged man wearing a suit, sitting on one of the sofas.

"Mr. Wallace Ace, welcome," the man smiled, pointing to a seat for Wallace to sit on.

"To whom do I owe the honor? The president of Italy is visiting me," Wallace smiled as he sat on the sofa.

"Mr. Wallace Ace, you should know the reason I invited you here," the president said.

"I'll get straight to the point. We hope you'll stop dipping your fingers into the muddy waters of the Carlos family. Name any price, and just return to your country," he said.

"I also have an offer. I hope you'll return the farm the Carlos family owns back to them and lift the ban you placed on our nightclubs and casinos," Wallace said.

"Mr. Wallace, it seems you don't understand. The Carlos family was once a hegemon, but wasn't it still taken down by the combined effort of the government and the three mafia families? You're just a person, and let me tell you the truth, reviving the Carlos family is an impossible dream. Anyone the Carlos family does not want to exist should not exist," the president said.

"Sorry, that doesn't apply to me. If you try to stop me, I have something that can be detrimental to you," Wallace said.

"Should we start with the prime minister you killed because she was demanding a hundred percent increase in government workers' wages, just so you could pocket the remaining money? Or should we go to the real cause of the fire accident that caused your opponent's death four years ago? There's also the issue of several young ladies you raped, and you even killed a sizable number of them. There's also the issue of drugs you did when you were little," Wallace continued, listing one by one, and the president's expression continued to worsen.

"I give you a week to make a decision. By then, I would have wrapped up with those mafia families. I have a lot on my plate," Wallace said, standing up before proceeding to walk out.

"By the way," he turned back.

"The force of the Carlos family is just something you can't think about."

************************************

Wallace returned to the office that afternoon, and nothing happened until late at night.

"Boss, it's twelve am already," Antonio said.

"Call him," Wallace said.

Laura picked up her phone to call, but no one answered.

"Have you gotten his location?" Wallace asked.

"Yes," Antonio handed him a tab with a GPS location on it.

"What about the masks?" Wallace asked.

A drawer was opened, and the mask was shown.

"He thinks he can hide in his turtle shell forever, but he doesn't know that breaking a turtle shell is my specialty," Wallace said as Laura handed him some documents, and he walked out from his apartment.

At the same time, someone watching from the roof of another building dropped the telescope.

"He has already left," the man said into his earbuds.

Wallace drove off for almost thirty minutes before he finally saw a special suite reserved for the president of the province on the outskirts of town at the Abruzzo mountain. Using his clairvoyant ability, he counted the guards in the building and there were close to a hundred and fifty guards in the suite. He saw the Storm CEO in a room, sitting with his phone beside him. Wallace called the phone, and it rang, but the CEO purposely did not pick it up. Wallace smiled as he took a coat from the other side of the car and donned a mask.

Anyway, no one could notice him with his clairvoyant ability, and he was far away from the suite. He wore the coat and mask and got down from the car, crossing the road to walk towards the suite.

Meanwhile, the CEO was inside a suite, looking at his phone, which had rang for the third time, and saw the familiar number. Frustrated, he turned it off. He wanted to sleep, but he couldn't because he could feel the threat of death looming over him.

Suddenly, an alarm blared off in the apartment, and a group of guards rushed into the room, staying on either side of the room while pointing their guns at the door. The CEO's heart reached his throat immediately.

*********************************

Earlier, Wallace had arrived in front of the suite and didn't even bother to press the doorbell because the guards were on full alert. He took out a phone-like technology device from his coat pocket and put it on the gate before pressing the green button. He moved away.

Inside, the security guards in charge of watching the surveillance saw what happened.

"Enemy at the gate, repeat enemy at the gate," he said into his earphone, repeating it.

Guards rushed towards the gate, but

"Bang!" The device exploded, blasting an uneven circular hole in the aluminum gate, blasting those guards at close proximity to oblivion. Circular devices were thrown into the suite, and before they could even land, smoke spread out from them, covering the whole compound and hindering the guards' sight.

"Bang, Bang" Most of the guards were outside, so Wallace shot them down one by one. Within five minutes, the lives of close to a hundred guards had been taken. Wallace also experienced another round of evolution during that time.

He walked into the building, and those guards who tried to ambush him all met with failure, thanks to his clairvoyant ability. He could see where they were hiding and shoot them down before they could even think of making a move. Just like that, a path of blood was carved all the way from outside the building to the room where he saw a shivering man.

"Mr. President, I gave you a warning, but you didn't even abide. I hate the act of betrayal the most," Wallace said with a deep voice.

"My phone was switched off; I didn't mean to," the man lied, trying to save himself.

Meanwhile, outside, vans arrived, and members of the SWAT team streamed into the building.

"Your friends will soon be here to save you, but they won't be able to save you at the same time, so just sign this," Wallace handed a document to the CEO.

"Please, if I sign, will you spare me?" the CEO asked.

"Then you die now," Wallace said.

"I'll sign," the CEO signed and handed the document back to Wallace.

"Goodbye, then," Wallace said with a grim voice.

"No!" the CEO tried to plead for mercy, but

"Bang!" A bullet hole was already visible on his head. He fell to the ground, unwilling to die, with regret filling his mind.

At the same time, the door to the room was blown off as the SWAT team made their way into the room, shooting at the place Wallace was before, but smoke had already clouded their vision. They shot haphazardly, and the smoke was soon sniffed out, but there was no trace of Wallace in the room.

"Shit!" the captain cursed.
