Chapter 63 Your services won't be necessary any longer.

Andrew thought that he had just closed his eyes when Lanarine came to wake him up.

-What's up?

He asked thinking that something changed.

-It's your turn now.

The woman said yawning.

-Alright, I'll be right there.

He said getting out of bed and going to wash his face.

Seeing him up and about, Lan went to sleep, happy to finally have her own bed back.

Andrew's bed was comfortable, but it was not hers.

After arriving at the command center, Andrew took a look at the sensor data.

The two ladies were still over 9 hours out and the first group of ships was about 15 hours out, and there didn't seem to be another group coming their way so there was nothing that urgently needed his attention.

The only development was the upgrade to the hydroponics modules which was finally researched a few minutes ago, but this would require Aelita to implement, and the beginning of the hydrogen generator modules assembly, which would take almost five hours to complete.

Other than that there was nothing more that happened.

Andrew selected another research and this time he chose the tier 2 drone recharge module upgrade.

This would shorten the time needed for the drones to recharge and the upgrade would be done by the repair drones automatically upgrading the modules to tier 2.

This was also a required upgrade to unlock the tier 2 drone manufacturing module upgrade.

This would finally allow him to start researching fighter drones, the space fighters piloted by humans look cool in movies and TV shows, but on the space battlefield, they become useless, the moment the enemy gets laser-based defensive cannons.

When the moment of firing equals the moment of hitting the target which is the norm for fighting using the energy weapons on the distance under a light second, the fighter becomes a death trap for the pilot, so it's way better to build drone fighters.

With this all done, Andrew began his studies as there was nothing more to do, and only from time to time did he look at the sensor display, he had opened in separate window on his display to check if there was any change.

The three hours went by fast and soon it was Iliana's turn so he went to wake her up.

He could have used the communicator but decided to do so personally like Lanarine did for him.

However, the moment he entered her beginning module he was rooted in place.

The doctor was sleeping on her bed but she was not covered by her covers and she was totally naked.

The sight was mesmerizing, but after a few seconds, Andrew took two steps back and knocked into the bulkhead.

-Iliana, your turn to take watch.

He said loudly enough to wake the woman up.

-I'm coming, just give me a moment.

She said while yawning.

-I'll be waiting in the command center.

Andrew said and left.

He hoped like hell that she was woken up by his voice and not by his presence, otherwise, things could become a bit awkward.

A few minutes later, Iliana entered the command center, fully clothed and ready to take her watch.

-Can I use your education system to look for some information about humans?

She asked seeing the display opened at the command chair.

-Sure, just use the separate display.

Andrew said, ready to go back to sleep, but stopped before leaving.

-I forgot to ask you earlier, but how did you detect me when you arrived at the station?

He asked.

-Some of my people can detect when we are targeted by a predator, in ancient times we used these abilities to escape from predators, but now it's a rare ability and I just happened to be born with it.

She explained, omitting some of the implications, which were not important now.

-Thank you, I was just wondering that's all.

Andrew said and left, he was certain there was something more to the story, but since she didn't tell him he would not force her to do so.

He went back to the bedroom and went to sleep, this time falling asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow.

Iliana on the other hand copied his way of keeping watch, by searching for information about human physiology and biology and looking at the sensor display once every few minutes to see if there were any changes.

She was so engrossed in her personal research that she missed the time to wake the others up by almost an hour, but thankfully nothing major happened during this time and the only notification she got during her watch was the one about the hydrogen generator moduled being assembled and ready to be connected to the station, but she decided to leave this to Andrew.

Iliana went to wake up Lanarine first, and then she went to the bedroom module for the first time.

After entering she was impressed by the module and the size of the bed.

-This human really knows, how to enjoy life.

She thought, before waking him up.

-Get up, it's time to get ready for the next two arrivals.

She said loudly.

This was enough to get him out of bed, and she even managed not to cringe while saying that.

During the last few days, she had a lot of time to think about this whole situation and she had to admit that it was not that bad being his slave.

As long as she fulfilled her duties, she could do whatever she wanted and the human didn't hold a grudge against her for attacking him, the only downside was that she was still controlled by the chip, but she could do nothing about it for now so she mostly just ignored it.

Andrew looked at the time and it was later than it should be.

-Let me guess, you were so focused on reading that you lost track of time.

He said with a grin.

-Something like that, but nothing interesting happened so there should not be any problem.

She said with more confidence than she felt.

-Since nothing happened then there is no problem.

He said and went to get a shower, half an hour later he came to the command center already wearing his armor along with his weapons.

-Why do you look like you are going to war?

Iliana asked, not knowing that Lanatine had asked the same question a few days ago.

-This armor saved me when we met for the first time, if not for it, you might have taken me down.

Andrew admitted.

-I would not try to attack you if you were not trying to capture me and pointing a weapon at me.

She said.

-Yeah right, and maybe you will now tell me that you would not oppose when I gave you a shot with the chip?

Andrew asked, with a grin on his face, making her unable to answer, she knew that she would do much more than just oppose.

-So what's your plan on capturing the two of them?

She asked, changing the subject.

-If it goes according to plan, then I'll just cuff them and bring them here for injections, and if they try to resist, I'll just taser them like I did with you.

Andrew explained.

-Then, what will you do if they will try to kill you?

The fleet commander has a deadly weapon, you know.

-Well, then we shall see who is better at real combat.

He said seriously.

-And that's why, I want to go with you and try to disarm them before someone gets hurt.

Lanarine entered the command center wearing her own armor.

-By the way, I don't think I thanked you for the armor.

She smiled.

-What makes you think, that you will be able to disarm them?

Andrew asked, not liking this idea one bit.

-If nothing else, I will be able to distract them allowing you to use these taser things on them.

She said.

-That way, the possibility of you killing each other will be way lower.

She insisted.

He didn't like this plan, but it made a lot of sense.

-Alright, but at the first sign of trouble, you have to get out of there.

He agreed not wanting to argue about it with the stubborn alien.

Andrew also showed her where to dock them, and where she would be standing.

It was planned in a way that gave her a way out if things got heated.

Just as he finished, there was a hail from the two incoming ladies.

-Lanarine, Where will you dock us?

The diplomat asked.

-I want you to get into a single module, and I will dock you here, she showed them the spot that Andrew picked.

-Why there, I would prefer a spot closer to the command center module.

The Fleet commander chimed in.

-I picked this spot, because it's out of the way and even if we leave the module there, it won't affect the defense of the station.

Lanarine said.

-Alright, see you in half an hour, and by the way, you look great in the armor.

The fleet commander said, before disconnecting.

-I really don't see these two as a diplomat and a commanding officer.

Andrew shook his head.

-Why not?

Both ladies asked at the same time.

-It might be only in my world, but these two didn't show even a minimal level of thinking or even behavior that is required of commanders and diplomats on my planet.

-They both behave more like school bullies with rich and powerful parents, flaunting their influence.

He explained.

-What's school, and what's a bully for that matter?

Iliana asked, not getting the reference.

Look it up in the education module, or here if you want.

He said, not feeling like explaining the whole thing.

Andrew programmed the drones to dock the module the two women were, in the designated spot.

Lanarine stood near the airlock to greet them, while Andrew was hiding behind a corner less than ten meters from them.

Additionally, over a dozen guardian drones were surrounding the place, and another few dozen were stationed on every way to the command center.

Andrew made sure that these two would not be able to take over the station even if they took him and Lanarine down.

The sound of the connecting module, announces the arrival of the two women.

They exited the module and looked at Lan And the fleet commander raised her gun at the woman.

-Thanks for bringing us here, but your services won't be necessary any longer.

She said.

Lan's eyes turned wide looking at the strangely shaped pistol in the woman's hands, aimed at her.

But before the fleet commander could even pull the trigger, both she and the diplomat got hit and fell to the floor, screaming in pain.

Andrew was standing right behind them with a taser in each hand.

-Do you still consider them friends?

He asked Lanarine, not letting up on the tasers.

Approaching the two immobilized women, he kicked the weapon away from them.

Lanarine on the other hand fell to her knees, shivering in fear.

-They wanted to kill me, but why?

She asked quietly, finally realizing the situation.

-You might get the answer in a few minutes but for now, help me cuff them.

Andrew said giving her two pairs of handcuffs.

Lan didn't hesitate; she cuffed both hands behind their backs as fast as she could and was not gentle about it.
