Both women were struggling the whole way to the command center until Andrew threatened them with another dose of pain, courtesy of his tasers.

That made them much more obedient and well-behaved.

-What happened back there?

Iliana asked seeing the two women state.

-They wanted to kill me.

Lanarine said, still shaken by the whole experience.

-They what?

The doctor asked, not believing what she just heard.

-The moment they came out of their module, they pointed a gun at her, saying something about her service not being needed anymore.

Andrew confirmed Lan's story.

-Why?

Why did you want to kill Lanarine?

Were you planning to kill us all?

Iliana asked, trying to understand, but the two women remained silent.

-We will know the answers soon.

Andrew said, approaching the two of them with a syringe and two vials in hand.

They started to struggle once again, but it was in vain, one after the other they both got implanted with a chip.

Andrew said and both women immediately panicked as they lost some control over their bodies.

-Now ladies, tell us why you wanted to kill Lan.

He asked.

Both women were visibly fighting to not reveal any information and to Andrew's surprise, they were winning, even after a few minutes they remained silent, but it was taking a toll on them.

-If you continue like that, they might die of heart failure.

Iliana said.

She was not trying to save their lives after what they did, they didn't deserve her help, but she wanted to know why they wanted to kill her friend.

-Alright, enough games, we don't have the time for it anyway.

Chip 02 and Chip 03 rise control to level 8.

-Because most races will obey or at least respect those with higher authority, which makes them easier to manipulate.

Andrew asked.

Iliana asked.

-Yes we sent the message and received orders to protect her holiness and serve her until she could be retrieved.

This revelation made Andrew pale.

He hadn't even conquered this system yet, but the federation already had two, and more were being conquered.

The situation looked grim as hell, but the good news was that they were still far away, and even with many systems they would not be able to research any form of hyperdrive any time soon.

-Does your federation know what reverse engineering is?

He asked, having an Idea.

-No, this is the first time I hear this term.

Runir said.

Andrew nodded satisfied with this answer, this could give him an advantage if the federation didn't come across another species that used reverse engineering.

-Lan, Ilia, do you have any more questions for these two?

Both ladies shook their heads.

-Did you just shorten my name?

Iliana asked, as it just occurred to her.

-Yes I did, but if you do not like it, then I can stop using it.

Andrew said.

-No it's fine.

She smiled slightly.

-Should we bring their control back to the lower level, or do you think that it's better to leave them like this?

He asked.

Both women were stunned.

-Are you asking us about it?

Lan asked.

-Is there anyone else here?

-Let's lower it, I don't like what they were planning to do with us, but the way they are now is not that far from being dead.

Ilia expressed her opinion.

-I agree, they might have tried to kill me, but I don't want to see them as soulless puppets.

Lan agreed.

-But let's put that on hold until after we deal with the pirates.

She added, not wanting to risk these two interfering with the battle.

-Agreed.

Andrew said and sent the two women to his beginning module with orders to stay there until he called for them.

-Ilia, Lan, I will need your help after we deal with the pirates.

-What can we do?

They both asked at the same time.

-I will allocate a silver credit to each of you, and you will use it to send a message about this whole federation to your people.

I have no idea if it will be in time to warn them about it, but at the very least it will buy us more time.
