Chapter:76

Reversal: A move that unleashes all remaining strength—the lower the user's HP, the stronger the attack.

Riolu had just used Endure to survive Mega Gyarados' Hyper Beam with only 1 HP remaining.

At this moment, it was at its absolute limit.

And in Pokémon Generations, the power of Reversal scaled directly with the user's remaining HP.

Satoshi recalled information from his past life.

"The maximum power of Reversal is reached when HP is at 1. If I remember correctly, the power index of this move in that state is… 200."

In comparison, Hyper Beam had a power index of 150.

But that wasn't all.

Since Reversal was a Fighting-type move, Riolu would receive STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus), increasing its effective power by 1.5x—bringing it to 300.

And because Mega Gyarados was a Water/Dark-type, it was double weak to Fighting moves, doubling the power to 600.

The Result?

Reversal was FOUR TIMES stronger than Hyper Beam.

"ROAR!!!"

With a defiant cry, Riolu launched forward and delivered a devastating punch!

Mega Gyarados was sent flying.

Misty could barely process what she was seeing.

A 0.7-meter-tall Riolu had just knocked a 6.5-meter-long Mega Gyarados into the air with a single hit.

The impact was so powerful that Mega Gyarados' body shook violently in midair—

And then—

It de-evolved back into a normal Gyarados.

"BANG!"

Gyarados crashed onto the battlefield, motionless.

The spot where Riolu's punch landed was visibly indented, and its eyes swirled in unconsciousness.

Ding!

Riolu gained experience! Level +1! Now Level 34!

Grovyle gained experience! Level +1! Now Level 34!

Charmeleon gained experience! Level +1! Now Level 34!

Frogadier gained experience! Level +1! Now Level 34!

You defeated Gym Leader Misty! Rewards: 30,000 Pokédollars, [Black Belt], and TM [Focus Blast]!

Satoshi smiled.

"Nice. The Black Belt boosts Fighting-type moves, and Focus Blast is a long-range Fighting attack. These are perfect for Riolu."

It almost felt like the game itself was working in his favor.

Misty sighed in acceptance.

"So… it was Reversal after all. Yeah, only a move like that could have taken down Mega Gyarados in one hit."

She stepped forward, retrieving her fainted Pokémon before handing Satoshi his reward.

"This Gym Battle is your victory. This is the Cascade Badge—you've earned it."

Updated Badge Leaderboard

Meanwhile, at Mt. Moon, two players—Leah and Brook—were grinding for experience while keeping a close eye on the Badge leaderboard.

To them, this was the only ranking where they had a chance of surpassing Satoshi.

Or at least, that's what they had thought.

"WHAT?!"

"HE GOT HIS SECOND BADGE ALREADY?!?!"

The two players roared in frustration, their faces contorted with disbelief.

"HOW!? We've been power-leveling at Mt. Moon non-stop, and this guy is already at the second Gym City! Does he fly or something?!"

"He got his first badge on the first day of the game, and his second badge by day three! Is this 'God-Level Player' title really that fitting?!"

Indeed, in the player community, Satoshi's in-game name, had already earned the title of 'God-Level Player.'

At first, players had called him things like 'prodigy' or 'cheater'—but eventually, everyone just started accepting reality.

His progress, battle ability, and tactical thinking were beyond even top-tier professional players.

And so, the title stuck.

Whether they admired, respected, or envied him, everyone now referred to him as—

The 'God-Level Player'

Satoshi smirked slightly as he imagined the roars of frustration from other players.

He couldn't hear them directly—but he didn't need to.

He knew they were watching his progress in disbelief.

Misty watched him with an amused look.

"Your strength and potential are beyond what I expected. I have no doubt that you'll reach at least Elite-level in the future."

She paused before adding, "Honestly, I'm kind of jealous."

She had a bright future as a Trainer, but she knew her limits.

At best, she'd probably reach Quasi-Elite in her lifetime.

But Satoshi?

His bare minimum was Elite-level.

He was simply built differently.

Satoshi shrugged.

"I appreciate the compliment, but Elite-level isn't my goal."

He looked toward the horizon.

"I was a Champion-level Trainer in my previous life. This time, I'll aim even higher."

His eyes burned with determination.

"I won't stop until I become the strongest Trainer in the world."

Misty shook her head with a grin.

"Can't tell if you're confident or just arrogant."

But she had to admit…

He had the strength to back it up.

With a small sigh, Misty asked, "So… are you leaving now?"

Her tone carried a hint of reluctance.

She had enjoyed their brief time together—finding someone she actually admired was rare.

But now he was leaving.

After just two days, he'd be moving on.

Satoshi smiled.

"I can't afford to stop. When I set out on my journey, so did hundreds of other Rookie Trainers."

"If I slow down, they'll catch up."

He paused, then added,

"Plus, I have hidden quests to grab before anyone else does."

Misty sighed in understanding.

"Even though you're already way ahead of everyone else, you still won't slow down, huh?"

"…Maybe that's why you're so strong."

She dropped the argument, then smiled mischievously.

"Well, if I can't make you stay… at least stay for lunch."

Satoshi chuckled.

"That, I don't mind."

His Pokémon deserved a good meal, and so did he.

After all, even the strongest need to eat.
