Chapter:77

Time never stops. No matter how abundant and enjoyable lunch was, it would eventually come to an end.

Misty had hoped to spend more time with Satoshi, but she knew he had already made up his mind—he had to leave. So, she didn't push him to stay.

After finishing their meal and making preparations, Satoshi and Misty stood by the entrance of her home, ready to part ways.

"Now that you're leaving Cerulean City… I don't know when we'll meet again," Misty murmured.

After hesitating for a moment, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small white bell before awkwardly handing it to him.

"This is a Soothe Bell I collected. It's a reward for all your help and for saving me. It's not anything expensive, just a small token of appreciation… don't think too much of it."

She quickly looked away, her face slightly flushed.

Satoshi took the Soothe Bell and listened to its soft, pleasant chime.

Then, he glanced at Misty's awkward but earnest expression and smirked.

He didn't know why Misty had taken a liking to him, but he wasn't clueless when it came to these things.

And the best response in this situation?

To match her tone.

"Of course, of course. Don't worry, I won't overthink it," he teased.

Then, he grinned.

"When my Charmeleon evolves into Charizard and I can fly freely, I'll stop by and visit—when I have time, that is."

Misty rolled her eyes at his response, her lips curling into a small smile.

"Sure, sure. Just don't misunderstand—I only think your house is really comfortable. If you want a place to rest occasionally, feel free to stop by for a meal."

Both of them laughed, chatting for a few more minutes before Satoshi finally waved goodbye and left.

Satoshi left Cerulean City and made his way north toward Route 25, heading toward Cape House.

There was a hidden quest waiting there—one with a pretty good reward.

And he intended to claim it before any other players did.

Before continuing, Satoshi needed to go through his latest gains.

After all, he had just defeated Misty, earning quite a few valuable items.

Since it wasn't convenient to take them out in Misty's home, he waited until he was outside Cerulean City, resting under a tree.

Current Loot:

[Black Belt] – Boosts Fighting-type move power by 30%.

[TM: Focus Blast] – A powerful Fighting-type move that has a chance to lower the opponent's Special Defense.

[Soothe Bell] – A bell that increases affection and friendship gains by 1.5x.

Satoshi smirked.

"I was just thinking earlier that Riolu needed a long-range move, and now I've got Focus Blast."

At this point, it didn't feel like luck anymore.

"Every reward I get seems perfectly suited for me. It's like this world is deliberately helping me…"

He shook his head.

"Well, whatever the reason, I'm not complaining."

Only Riolu could learn Focus Blast for now.

Charmeleon and Grovyle wouldn't be able to learn it until they evolved into Charizard and Sceptile.

That was another strange aspect of Pokémon—some moves could only be learned after evolving.

Satoshi understood why—evolution significantly changed a Pokémon's body structure and strength. It made sense that some powerful moves would only become available later.

But what didn't make sense was the opposite case—some moves could only be learned before evolution.

"Same Pokémon, so why the restriction?"

Fortunately, in Pokémon Generations, TMs were reusable.

So he didn't have to worry about wasting them.

Ding!

Riolu has learned Focus Blast!

Satoshi nodded in satisfaction before turning his attention to the other two items.

[Black Belt] → Boosts Fighting-type moves by 30%.

[Soothe Bell] → Increases friendship gain, making evolution faster.

Both were incredibly useful for Riolu.

But… he could only equip one.

"If I give Riolu the Black Belt, its attacks will be stronger."

"But if I give it the Soothe Bell, it'll evolve into Lucario much faster."

Satoshi frowned.

"Wait a minute… why am I assuming I can only equip one item?"

Breaking the Rules?

In his past life, Pokémon could only hold one item—that was just how the game worked.

But now…

He wasn't in a game.

He was in Pokémon Generations A—a completely different reality.

"Now that I think about it… I only ever gave my Pokémon one item because I never had enough to share between them."

"I never actually tried giving them multiple items."

A grin spread across his face.

"Well, no harm in trying."

Testing Multi-Item Carrying

He picked up the [Soothe Bell] and handed it to Riolu.

Ding!

Riolu has equipped [Soothe Bell].

Next, he picked up the [Black Belt] and handed it over.

Ding!

Riolu has equipped [Black Belt].

Satoshi froze.

He stared at the status screen.

Name: Riolu

Held Items: [Black Belt], [Soothe Bell]

"Wait… it worked?!

For a moment, Satoshi just stood there in shock.

Then—

"HAHAHA! This is AMAZING!"

But he wasn't done yet.

"If two items work… what about three?"

He pulled out the [Lucarionite]—Mega Evolution Stone for Lucario.

"Let's test this."

He handed it to Riolu.

Ding!

Riolu has equipped [Lucarionite].

Satoshi stared at the screen.

Name: Riolu

Held Items: [Black Belt], [Soothe Bell], [Lucarionite]

"OH. MY. GOD."

His heart pounded with excitement.

"Wait… how many items CAN a Pokémon carry?"

If three worked, could he go for four? Five?
