Chapter 193: Pokémon Egg

Aerodactyl Joins the Team

Misty stared at the Poké Ball in Ash's hand, her eyes widening in amazement.

"Aerodactyl... You really caught it?"

She had seen the entire battle unfold, yet the reality of it still hadn't sunk in.

Aerodactyl, a Pokémon so ancient and powerful, was now Ash's Pokémon.

His team just became even stronger.

"Yeah," Ash grinned, giving the Poké Ball a light toss in the air before catching it. "It wasn't easy, but Aerodactyl is officially part of the team now."

Misty's excitement grew.

"That's incredible, Ash! Aerodactyl is really strong!"

Ash turned to the towering Pokémon beside him.

Aerodactyl let out a low growl, still adjusting to its new situation. When Ash reached out to pat its head, it flinched slightly but didn't resist.

That was a good sign.

Aerodactyl wasn't fully comfortable yet, but at least it wasn't rejecting him.

"You'll get used to me soon enough," Ash said with a chuckle.

To help ease Aerodactyl into the group, Ash released Charizard from its Poké Ball.

The newly evolved Charizard stretched its wings majestically, then turned its gaze toward Aerodactyl.

For a long moment, the two dragon-like Pokémon stared at each other, sizing each other up.

Then, to Ash's relief, Charizard gave a nod of acknowledgment.

Aerodactyl hesitated—before returning the gesture.

They weren't rivals.

They were allies.

---

Aerodactyl's Strength and Potential

On the surface, Aerodactyl was the highest-leveled Pokémon on Ash's team, already strong enough to take on Gym Leaders.

However, strength alone wasn't enough.

"Aerodactyl's got raw power, but it lacks training," Ash muttered thoughtfully.

Unlike Charizard, who had fought battle after battle, Aerodactyl had survived on sheer instinct.

It had reached this level through its natural talent alone.

That was impressive.

But it also meant there was still untapped potential.

If trained properly, Aerodactyl could become one of the strongest Pokémon on Ash's team.

And Ash was determined to make that happen.

"First thing tomorrow, we start training."

Aerodactyl let out a huff, almost as if it understood the challenge ahead.

Back at the Camp

By the time they returned to the camp, the sun had set, and the smell of warm food filled the air.

Brock was busy stirring a pot of stew, but his expression brightened when he saw them.

"You guys are back!"

He put down the spoon and walked over.

"Judging from those smiles, I'd say things went well?"

Ash exchanged glances with Misty before nodding proudly.

"Yep. Aerodactyl is officially part of the team now."

Brock exhaled in relief. "That's great to hear."

He had been a little worried—Aerodactyl wasn't exactly an easy Pokémon to deal with—but if Ash had successfully tamed it, that was good news.

---

The Discovery of a Pokémon Egg

As they sat down to eat, Brock suddenly remembered something.

"Oh! That reminds me—while you guys were gone, I found something interesting."

Ash raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

Brock stood up and walked over to his tent. A few moments later, he returned holding something carefully in his hands.

A Pokémon Egg.

Misty's eyes widened in excitement.

"A Pokémon Egg?!"

She quickly scooted closer to get a better look.

The egg was mostly white, with red and blue polygonal patterns decorating its shell.

"Wow… it's beautiful!"

Even Pikachu, who had perched itself on Misty's shoulder, was curious.

"Pika?"

The Electric-type leaned forward and poked the egg with its tiny paw.

It had never seen a Pokémon Egg up close before.

---

Trying to Identify the Egg

Misty turned to Brock.

"Where did you find it?"

Brock sat back down, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"It was hidden near some tall grass by the edge of the camp. There weren't any signs of a nest nearby, so I'm not sure which Pokémon it belongs to."

Misty studied the egg carefully.

"Usually, Pokémon eggs resemble the Pokémon inside them, right?"

Brock nodded. "Right. For example, Eevee's eggs are brown and cream-colored, just like its fur."

Misty looked back at the white egg with strange markings.

"But I've never seen an egg like this before…"

Even Brock, who was knowledgeable about Pokémon breeding, seemed stumped.

---

Ash Recognizes the Egg

While Misty and Brock were still debating, Ash's eyes widened in realization.

"Wait a minute…"

That pattern…

That distinct design…

There was only one Pokémon this egg could belong to.

"This is a Togepi Egg!"

Both Misty and Brock turned to him in shock.

"Wait, really?!" Misty gasped.

Brock blinked. "Are you sure?"

Ash nodded.

"I remember seeing a similar egg in Professor Oak's research notes. This egg belongs to the Togekiss evolutionary line. And if I'm right…"

He looked at the egg with a knowing smile.

"It'll hatch into a Togepi."

---

A Pokémon That Brings Happiness

Misty stared down at the egg in wonder.

"A Togepi…"

She had heard of them before.

Togepi was known as a Pokémon that brought happiness and good fortune.

People often said that if a Togepi trusted you, it meant you had a pure and kind heart.

Misty suddenly felt a strong attachment to the egg.

"That's amazing…"

Brock, meanwhile, was still in awe.

"Togepi are incredibly rare. This is an incredible find."

Ash crossed his arms.

"The real question is… who should take care of it?"

Misty immediately perked up.

"Me! Let me take care of it!"

Ash chuckled. "You really like it, huh?"

Misty nodded eagerly.

"It's so cute! And if it hatches, I want to be the first thing it sees!"

Brock smiled. "Well, you did find it, Ash. Do you think Misty should have it?"

Ash glanced at Misty, seeing how excited she was.

He already knew the answer.

"Yeah. I think Togepi would be happy with Misty."

Misty beamed as she carefully held the egg close.

"Then I'll take care of it and make sure it hatches safe and sound!"

As Pikachu nuzzled against the egg curiously, the group laughed, enjoying the moment.

Even though they didn't know when the egg would hatch—

One thing was certain:

A new adventure was about to begin.
