Chapter 195: Fuchsia City

A City of Sakura and Ninjas

Fuchsia City, a serene metropolis in the southwestern Kanto Region, was known for its Sakura trees.

Every spring, the cherry blossoms would bloom, painting the entire city in soft shades of pink and fuchsia.

This beautiful sight inspired the city's name—"Fuchsia," the dazzling pink color associated with elegance and beauty.

However, unlike Saffron or Celadon City, Fuchsia was not a commercial powerhouse.

It had no famous industries or high-end shopping districts.

Its true claim to fame lay in two things:

✔ The Wild Wilderness Area – A protected Pokémon sanctuary that attracted Trainers from all over.

✔ The Fuchsia Gym – A legendary dojo, home to the ninja master Koga and his Poison-type Pokémon.

Even though the city wasn't the busiest, it thrived due to constant Trainer traffic.

Every year, hundreds of Trainers came here—either to challenge the Gym or to catch Pokémon in the wilderness area.

The Koga Family: Guardians of Fuchsia

The Fuchsia Gym was more than just a battle arena—it was a ninja training ground.

For generations, the Koga family had protected the Wild Wilderness Area, ensuring that its Pokémon remained safe from poachers and reckless Trainers.

Koga, the current Gym Leader, was renowned for his mastery of Poison-type Pokémon.

He was no ordinary Gym Leader—his skills had reached the level of the Elite Four.

If Kanto's Elite Four had a vacant seat, Koga would be a top contender to replace Agatha, the aging Ghost-type master.

Some even believed that Koga could surpass Lorelei or Bruno in combat, but he remained devoted to his duty as Fuchsia's protector.

Journey to Fuchsia City

After finishing their adventure in the Wild Wilderness Area, Ash and his friends decided not to walk the remaining distance.

Instead, they took a special transport vehicle designed for Trainers.

"Finally, a break from walking!" Misty sighed, stretching her arms.

Brock chuckled. "I thought you liked traveling on foot?"

"I do, but after trekking through the wilderness for days, my feet need a rest!"

Ash, sitting by the window, watched the passing scenery.

Within an hour, the vehicle stopped at Fuchsia City's northern entrance.

"Alright, this is where we get off," Brock announced.

The transport did not enter the city, so they had to walk the rest of the way to the Pokémon Center.

Walking Through Fuchsia City

As they strolled through the streets, Ash took in the unique atmosphere of Fuchsia City.

The town had a traditional aesthetic, with wooden buildings, stone paths, and torii gates leading to important landmarks.

However, Misty sighed.

"Too bad we missed the cherry blossoms…" she muttered.

It was already late spring, meaning the Sakura petals had long since fallen.

Ash gave her a grin. "Then let's come back next year!"

Misty's expression softened, and she nodded. "It's a promise."

Brock smirked. "Ugh, I can already feel the romance. Someone save me."

Ash and Misty ignored him, much to Pikachu's amusement.

The Fuchsia Gym: A Ninja's Domain

After walking for half an hour, they finally arrived at the Pokémon Center.

However, before checking in, something caught their eye.

Right next to the Pokémon Center stood a massive courtyard, surrounded by high walls and wooden gates.

The architecture was distinctly Kantonian, resembling a ninja dojo.

"That must be the Fuchsia Gym," Brock observed.

Ash's eyes sparkled with excitement. "It looks so cool!"

Misty nodded. "It really does feel like a ninja's hideout."

As they stood outside, the gym doors opened, and several Trainers stepped out.

Some were challengers, while others were students of the Gym.

Unlike other Gyms, Fuchsia Gym also functioned as a ninja academy.

Here, Trainers specialized in Poison-type Pokémon and honed their stealth and agility alongside battle tactics.

However, since it was already evening, the battles had ended for the day.

"We'll check it out tomorrow," Ash decided. "For now, let's rest up!"

With that, they headed into the Pokémon Center to prepare for the next day's challenge.

The Shadow of Fuchsia Gym

As the sun set over the horizon, a man in a purple ninja outfit stood outside the Gym, gazing into the distance.

He had short dark hair, sharp eyes, and an aura of quiet strength.

This was Koga, the Gym Leader of Fuchsia City.

He let out a small sigh. "Another day of Gym battles… Another group of Trainers aiming for the Kanto League."

Although he enjoyed testing Trainers, he sometimes wondered…

How many of them were truly worthy of the title "Champion"?

The Next Generation

Before Koga could dwell on his thoughts, a cheerful voice interrupted him.

"Dad! Dad!"

A young girl with short purple hair came running toward him, her face glowing with excitement.

This was Janine, Koga's ten-year-old daughter.

Although she was young, her talent as a Poison-type Trainer was already remarkable.

Koga smiled warmly and crouched down, opening his arms.

"Come here, Janine."

She leaped into his embrace, grinning widely.

"Dad, I defeated seven Trainers today! Isn't that awesome?!"

Koga raised an eyebrow. "Seven, huh? That's impressive."

Janine puffed out her chest. "Of course! I'm going to be even stronger than you someday!"

Koga chuckled. "I look forward to that day."

Although Koga was the current Gym Leader, he knew that one day, Janine would inherit the Fuchsia Gym.

And when that day came… she would be a force to be reckoned with.
