CHAPTER 66:The Hunt 2

"Never use a mutt to perform a warrior's job". Dianne laughed, sending one of the hounds flying with a kick before she blocked the downward slash that would have split her in two.

The other three hounds gave the vampire no time to rest, or at least that was the idea. Instead their iron like teeth sunk into nothing; leaving them confused as they stood in the empty circle.

"Your tricks wont deceive me". the elven queen proudly declared as her biceps stretched beneath the green sleeves before like a coiled spring it released the energy stored.

*Pulch*

Blood sputtered out of the vampire's mouth." It seems you are as strong as you look".

"Impossible! Langhyr shouted in shock. The vampire seemed extremely alright even though a freaking arrow was embedded deep in her skull. To the elf's surprise Fanghyr had seemingly disappeared into the forest. But he knew that the elusive assassin had only gone to wait for an opportunity, which meant that he, the queen and those hounds would have to tire out and distract the vampire until he could deal the finishing blow.

"You should have at least told me about your plan first". Queen Flowyria hissed, charging forward with nothing but her bare fists.

Dianne's wrinkled legs tensed up and in one massive leap flew into the sky, her fangs were bared and throwing her fist down, the vampire crashed into the elven queen below.

The queen on instinct rolled to her left, dodging the blow that left a huge crater, the evasion was quickly followed up with a swift punch that aimed for the fiend's face.

The punch was obvious and so Dianne easily dodged it, throwing out a punch of her own that headed right for the queen's ribs.

"Strange" Dianne frowned when her right hook caught nothing but air, still she had been battling long before this young queen was born and so she simply counterattacked.

Langhyr seeing an opportunity charged forward, spear in hand and burning determination in his eyes.

"That was close". The queen heaved a sigh of relief when the golden blade just passed right above her eyes. "Is this how that brat fights? Abandoning his comrade and waiting for an opportunity that best suits him!

The vampire's left hand moved at an even faster speed; tearing through the breeze with slashes that sent shockwaves throughout the forest.

But to her perpetual amazement the elven queen kept on dodging the attacks with such a grace that it looked as though they were rehearsing for a play.

And even more infuriating, some blockhead elf had just breached her defenses with a long spear whose tip was just inches from her chest.

"Stay out of this! Dianne roared, leaning backward to dodge a powerful punch from the queen before kicking the earth with such a force that she was sent meters into the air and thus out of the reach of Langhyr's sudden attack.

"First the insect" The vampire smiled.

"Shit" Langhyr hissed when a golden flash glinted in the air right above him. "So this is how I'm going to die".

For the first time ever, Langhyr finally understood what people meant when they said "Their life flashed right in front of their eyes".

"I didn't remember the light being blu..."

"Move out of the way DUMMY! The queen tackled the warrior, just in time before the blue beam tore the skies.

"Took you long enough". The queen scoffed. The warrior beneath her still felt a little weird and fuzzy. It took a lot of great effort for him to prevent the blood from rushing to the wrong place. The queen had even forgotten herself for a brief moment, and was currently searching the skies for any sign of the vampire.

"I forgot how much that hurts". Dianne winced, placing a hand against the gaping hole in her abdomen. "NO matter, at least the blade managed to hold out". She added as she stared at the golden blade that laid on the ground.

A bright blue blur interrupted her thoughts, crashing into Dianne with so much force that the tree she was standing on scattered in pieces.

The hounds beneath the tree had luckily gotten out of the way, jumping right in front of their mistress; standing guard as they waited for her next order.

"What in the world is happening? The queen stood with her mouth opened wide in shock. All they could see were silhouettes; blue and yellow.

Leo threw another bone shattering punch to Dianne's ribs, sending her flying through another group of trees. Not wasting any time, two x shaped slashes escaped from his daggers.

Dianne tilted her body at an unnatural angle, limiting the slashes damages and allowing it to instead slice off her two hands instead of it eviscerating her entire body. Leo didn't stop there and with slow calculated steps he stood in front of the living corpse in front of him.

"It seems I underestimated you". Dianne coughed. The rest of her intestines splayed onto the floor but to Leo's surprise she still had that look of someone who had just been gauging the strength of her opponent.

"I'm not taking any chances" Leo frowned, taking on a deep breath as he clenched the daggers with all our might.

*SWISH*

Multiple of blue slashes appeared in the air; so fast and deadly that the trees behind Dianne kept on being diced into infinitesimal pieces.

"It's done". Leo finally breathed out. "Glad that's over".

His ears swiveled a little, and then it hit Leo.

Everywhere was quiet, way too quiet, which meant that something had gone terribly wrong. With one burst of energy Leo covered the distance between him and where he had left the queen.

"I didn't even know that I had gone so far". Leo panted. Regardless, the assassin reached there in only a matter of minutes .

And the sight before him was simply horrific.

"Took you long enough". The vampire smiled. Around her were the headless bodies of the four elven hounds while Langhyr's limp neck rested comfortably in the vice like grip of her elongated right fingers.

The queen on the other hand stood right in front of the vampire, kneeling down as she tried to stem the bleeding coming from her ripped arm.

"How? Was the question on Leo's mind.

Even if she had hidden a clone somewhere, Leo was still supposed to have heard the conflict or at least notice the mana disturbances with his azure eye".

"Now that I have gotten your attention" Dianne's thin lips opened in a crazy grin. "Why don't we have a proper fight? The golden blade shone even brighter so as the blue amulet around Dianne's neck; an amulet which Leo was sure had to be destroyed, for him to even have any hope of winning this fight.

"Get ready to die Monster!!. The queen spat a tooth, limping to her feet as she took on a fighting stance.

Dianne grinned. "IT's been so long since I had a good fight".

I Apologize for the slow update rate lately. I've been finding it hard to balance my schoolwork with this.

But thankfully next week is already showing the hope of being less stressful.

Which means more chapters.
