CHAPTER 67:The Hunt 3

"Langhyr? The elven queen silently called out, she still couldn't accept the fact that one of her trusted warriors had just died, right in front of her.

Sadly, her warrior's body remained limp. Never to answer her call again.

" I find it amusing and at the same time insulting". Dianne shook her head. "That you thought I would have been defeated so easily".

"I should hand it to you two, the first round was…

*Crunch*

A swift kick to the jaw interrupted the vampire's 'speech'. She tumbled across the forest floors before coming to an eventual stop at a mighty birch tree.

"You, young'uns need to learn how to start respecting your elders". Dianne spat blood. Getting up, the vampire hissed in pain, cracking her back and currently sniffing the air for any trace of the two.

"Where are they?

A waft of lavender passed her nose and Dianne quickly reacted by ducking her head. The elven queen was quite surprised on seeing that the wily old vampire had managed to dodge her attack.

Dianne on the other hand moved fast, taking advantage of the opening in front of her.

The golden blade flashed like lighting, splitting the air and heading for the queen's heart.

"Impossible". Beads of sweat ran down the vampire's forehead when the blade struck nothing but air. There was no time to dwell on this because another deadlier slash was already heading her way.

*Swish*

The vampire's body split into two perfect halves; staining the ground red.

"Something's not right" Leo frowned from his perch on the tree. He had been observing everything carefully but yet nothing seemed out of place, even his powerful azure eye had confirmed that the vampire in front of him was truly dead.

"Be on your toes assassin". A serious voice below warned. Leo sniffed the air once more; checking the air for any sign of threat before he jumped down.

"She's still alive" the queen remarked; a tinge of annoyance in her voice. "Next time, aim for the amulet.

Leo nodded, not saying anything because he could see the vague crimson silhouette that was currently emerging from the ground. The aura it emanated was unlike any other thing he had seen and closer inspection revealed swirling masses of crimson mana that held so much power.

Power that he had only seen in one other creature: A black Demon.

"F*ck" Leo growled out loud. The elven queen who didn't notice anything out of the ordinary wondered what had suddenly angered him.

"She's just toying with us".

"True". Dianne appeared right in front of them. She looked at the blinding rays of light that had just managed to penetrate the foliage. "But I no longer have time for games".

*Crack*

The queen in an instant crashed into a group of trees, the crack of her broken bones resounding in Leo's sharp ears.

"No more games". Dianne smirked. "Just predator and prey".

Leo couldn't agree less.

Tensing all his muscles, Leo twin blades slashed in a precise 'X' pattern, the only sound a whisper of steel.

The trees groaned as they toppled and Dianne's body- cleaved into four- hit the ground with a crimson spray.

Leo seeing this smiled, and suddenly remembering the queen, quickened his pace and headed straight for the trees.

"Thank goodness'. Leo breathed out in relief on seeing that save for a cracked rib, the queen still seemed to be in good shape.

"Help me to my feet" The queen commanded. Leo happily obliged, helping her to stand and ultimately scratching his head in confusion.

"How is she even able to stand? Leo shuddered. "I'm not even sure that I will be able to recover from such an attack and yet all she got was a cracked rib".

"It seems I had underestimated her strength".

"Don't worry about me" the queen smiled. "I just need to get my bow".

Leo understood, watching the queen's back as she limped towards where the bow had been left.

All of a sudden the queen's gait straightened up and a nasty scowl formed on her face. "Not this time".

Sharp wrinkled fingers suddenly appeared out of nowhere; their glinting tips heading straight for the queen's throat.

But they never did reach their target.

*Pulch*

Dianne coughed out blood as her back slammed the ground. Everything had happened fast, so fast that only Leo's azure eye saw what just happened.

In a split second, the queen's neck tilted slightly. Avoiding the nails ever so slightly, her slender hands moved next, catching the vampire by the arm before slamming her right into the ground.

Still her opponent's shock had only lasted for a little while and soon she counterattacked. Rolling away to evade what would have been a rib shattering stomp, Diane quickly got to her feet.

An extremely fast blur however sent her crashing into the ground once more.

"Have you ever thought of acting, your highness? Leo asked; obviously impressed because even he had failed to see through the ruse.

Queen Flowyria took her fighting stance . "The funny thing is that you aren't the first person to tell me that Fanghyr".

Dianne stood up touching her bleeding nose, annoyed more than ever.

"I will enjoy breaking your bones". She hissed.

Covering the distance between them in frightening leaps, the vampire attacked with bared fangs.

"This is for Langhyr! The elven queen roared. A mighty punch connected with the vampire's ribs and another spinning kick from Leo sent her crashing into a tree.

"This is actually starting to get ANNOYING! Dianne roared. Her legs kicked off the tree, giving Dianne the momentum that she needed. Like an arrow she collided with Fanghyr, sending sparks flying as three mighty blades crashed.

"Not good". Queen Flowyria frowned. "I can't think of any way of entering the fray without getting diced to pieces".

"DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE!!!!! Dianne screamed; entering a frantic state as she attacked and defended with all her might.

Leo attacked with similar fury, running and leaping of trees as he searched for openings. Every once in a while their blades would clash; creating unimaginable destruction.

"I just need to wait for the right moment". The queen took in a deep breath. Raising her arms up, she stretched her bowstring to its extreme; gathering energy for a shot that would end it all. The glint of the bright sunlight was in her eyes, but nothing. Absolutely nothing was going to ruin her hardened focus.

The two blurs above however continued to clash. Destroying trees and creating craters every time they crossed paths; neither side refusing to give up.

"Aren't you supposed to be burning" Leo smirked, slashing forward with two horrendous slashes that ripped space itself.

"I'm not like the rest of them" A sinister voice from behind him replied.

Leo sensing the danger, quickly rolled to the left. Dodging a kick that destroyed the rows of trees behind him.

"NO matter".

Leo kicked off a falling tree, twisting in the air and growling with the massive fangs that started to protrude from his gums.

"At least, the Sun won't give you the mercy of a quick death".

The armored panther landed and shook the entire forest with a massive roar.
