The Biochemical Crisis

Oren flipped through the documents, his eyes showing a hint of fatigue, but more so determination. The desk lamp cast a faint light, creating an unsettling atmosphere, with shadows flickering across his furrowed brow.

"The 'Black Barrier' is a key step in the collaboration between the Averland military and the negative extraterrestrial forces— if successfully implemented, it will kill a large number of people and is part of their population reduction plan," he said, pointing at the dense text in the documents, his voice low but resolute.

Rakien moved his chair closer, glanced at the details in the files: "This is their plan to use biological weapons to reduce the population, right?"

"That's correct," Oren nodded, turning to another page and pointing at a complex genetic sequence chart, "These biological weapons, similar to the vaccine plan, are not only used to exterminate the population of enemy countries. They have conducted extensive research on the genetic traits of people in those countries, aiming to destroy these human civilizations, killing what they call the 'waste population,' leaving only a small fraction of their so-called elites to enjoy the entire planet."

The room fell into a deathly silence. Rakien and the two Kahns looked at the documents before them, the air filled with an intangible sense of oppression. The light reflected on Old Kahn's wrinkled face, as if adding a few more stern lines.

"This is more terrifying than a large-scale war, at least wars are out in the open, and these..." Old Kahn whispered, "We've exposed so many evil plans before, and they're not all, they actually have such a diabolical method to control the future of humanity."

Young Kahn couldn't help but punch the table, creating a muffled "bang." His voice was filled with anger, his gaze sweeping towards Oren, "We must stop them."

Oren nodded, his eyes filled with gravity: "Yes, the spread of mosquitoes themselves is very broad, and there are specific species resistant to cold. They can even survive in winter, creating more opportunities for the virus to spread, and the viruses spread by these mosquitoes are highly lethal and highly contagious... According to the information, the scope of the 'Black Barrier' plan is very wide. Averland is not only implementing this plan domestically, but they are also promoting these biochemical weapons to other countries through various forces."

Rakien pondered for a moment, then looked up and asked, "How should we act? With just a few of us, it's probably difficult to stop a plan on a global scale."

At this moment, Chris, participating remotely in the meeting, spoke through the encrypted communication device: "Since the plan is set to be activated in two months, it has not been implemented yet, and it may spread after the plan begins, but Averland is, after all, the research center, and the breeding base for the virus mosquitoes is here. I can delve into Averland's internal systems, track down the key breeding bases for the biochemical weapons and their transportation routes. If we can find these, we can try to destroy the core nodes from the source, delaying or even terminating their plan."

Oren's eyes lit up: "Good idea! Find their source research facilities and destroy them one by one! Also, it has now been confirmed that General Atel is a reliable resistance organization. If necessary, I can seek his help, and he may even cooperate with our actions, and more resistance organizations will join the operation in the future."

"That's great! But Chris is right, time is running out," Betty interjected, "We have to hurry. The 'Black Barrier' will be fully activated in two months. If we can't destroy those things before then, the entire planet will be plunged into a disaster."

A few days later, Chris made a key breakthrough in his work, having identified the key breeding bases for the virus mosquitoes.

The group gathered around the table, beginning to discuss the specific action plan. Oren printed out several documents, pointing at the location marks: "These are the experimental bases where the Averland military stores its genetic weapons, as found by Chris. If we can find a way in, destroy key facilities, we might be able to dismantle their operations."

Especially here, Chris specifically marked, his finger lightly brushing over the mark of one of the experimental bases: "The Beryl region's Biological Research Center, there are numerous contracts with mosquito-related contractors here, it is speculated that this is the breeding base."

"Right!" Chris also responded through the encrypted call, "This research center should also be in charge of storing and testing some of the genetic weapon samples. Destroying it would deal a significant blow to their entire project."

"We have to act quickly," Old Kahn added, "Such operations can't be delayed for long, the sooner we destroy, the greater the difficulty Averland will have in recovering."

Oren pondered for a moment, then slowly said: "I can use my military officer identity to apply for some documents there, disguised as a routine inspection to go in and talk, drawing the security's attention. Betty, you stay at the base to assist Chris remotely, and the rest of you carry out the sabotage mission."

Chris suggested in the encrypted communication: "I will continue to monitor the military network, ensuring they do not detect any anomalies during the operation. I will alert you in advance to any signs of exposure."

"Very well!" Oren stood up, his gaze firmly sweeping across each person's face, "The key to this operation is speed and secrecy. We cannot attract the military police's attention, it must be completed quietly."

As the meeting concluded, everyone split up to prepare for the next infiltration and sabotage plan. Oren stood up, the tension in the room still spreading, the air filled with an intangible pressure. Everyone was silently organizing their equipment, their steps light but urgent. The night outside gradually grew heavier, as if paving the way for the coming storm.

The next night, everything was ready.

"Chris, we're off," Oren whispered through the wireless communicator inserted in his ear. Then, with a nod, Rakien, Young Kahn, and Old Kahn followed closely behind, they gently pushed open the door and disappeared into the night.

The night city was unusually quiet, the neon lights on the streets flickering with faint rays of light, their car quietly slid into the main road. Young Kahn was driving, his gaze occasionally sweeping the rearview mirror, making sure there were no trailing vehicles. Everyone's emotions were taut, no one spoke, only the faint light from the dashboard reflecting on their faces.

"Destination reached," Young Kahn softly reminded, they parked the car in a dark street corner, deserted. In the distance, the outline of the target building faintly appeared in their line of sight.

"Follow the plan," Oren commanded in a low voice, and walked straight ahead, until he walked into the main entrance, where two guards saw Oren and saluted respectfully, "Officer! You're here~"

"Hmm, I've come to retrieve the official records of STN62365, I haven't had time to come, but now I'm here," Oren said with a serious expression.

"Alright, alright, we'll get them for you right away, please have a seat here, wait a moment~" The two guards hurriedly and respectfully served.

At the same time, the others had silently entered the building through a back alley. Old Kahn took out the tools they had prepared in advance and carefully pried open a door. They infiltrated this hidden government facility, with the goal of destroying the breeding facilities for the bio-virus mosquitoes and the data center where the experimental data was stored.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly when suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps came from the distance.

The sound of footsteps grew closer, breaking their tense silence. Young Kahn immediately put up his finger, signaling everyone to stop. They held their breath, pressing against the dark wall, trying not to make a sound. The footsteps approached slowly, like a patrolling security guard.

"I'll handle it," Old Kahn whispered, quickly pulling out a mini shock device from his waist, a non-lethal weapon secretly provided by Oren. He aimed at the shadow at the entrance of the alley and quickly fired. A faint blue light flashed, and the footsteps suddenly stopped. The patrolling man lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

"Let's go!we don't have much time," Rakien urged in a low voice, and everyone continued on.

They walked into the basement of the data center. Here were stored the most important materials—the core research data on Averland's biochemical and genetic weapons. They had already obtained some information, but there was more data stored here. And the large mosquito breeding facilities were deeper on the fifth floor below ground.

Rakien gently pushed open a slightly ajarred door, and before his eyes was a row of servers flickering with cold light. The group quickly entered the room, and Old Kahn put his tool bag on the ground and began to set up a timed bomb.

"They'd better hurry, we have to get this done before the security system reacts," Oren glanced at his watch and thought to himself, his hand already covered in cold sweat.

"I'm connecting to the data," Chris said through the remote call, and everyone heard it through their ear communicators. Chris's screen began to display a large amount of encrypted research data, which was being quickly downloaded.
