V: Exam.

In the blink of an eye, another year passed. Over the past year, Raiden had significantly progressed with his powers and physical abilities. His training regimen expanded beyond what he had ever imagined. He joined a Muay Thai dojo, hit the gym regularly, and continued his kinesiology therapy—all at once. Before the incident, he only practiced Muay Thai. Still, now, with renewed motivation and his parents' unwavering support, he optimized his training to encompass every aspect of physical and mental conditioning.

Month by month, Raiden grew stronger and more adept at controlling his psychic abilities. He finally unlocked the potential of all his powers, including the one that had baffled him in the beginning: "Disable."

This ability was, in Raiden's own words, broken. It sent a disruptive psychic wave toward a living target, temporarily disabling their Quirk for five seconds. In battle, two seconds was a lifetime. Raiden recognized this as a game-changer, giving him a significant edge against most opponents.

However, he discovered three key exceptions:

Dual Quirks: If a Quirk had two distinct aspects—like flying and emitting light from wings—Raiden could only disable one part of it.Mutation Quirks: These Quirks, which permanently altered the user's body, remained unaffected by Disable. Their inherent nature made them immune to his interference.Activated Quirks: he couldn't "dissable" a Quirk already in use.

Beyond refining his abilities, Raiden noticed something puzzling: despite his relentless training, he hadn't "leveled up." The number "2" on his arm remained unchanged. He concluded that leveling up wasn't tied to practice or endurance but to real battles—those that pushed him to his limits or endangered his life.

Still, the absence of a level increase didn't mean stagnation. Raiden's finesse with his powers had improved immensely. While not yet as effortless as breathing, his control over his psychic energy had become smoother, more instinctual, and far more effective.

He was evolving—not at a level, but at mastery. And Raiden knew that the next real challenge would be the true test of how far he'd come, that's why he was finally here, in this place.

Before Raiden, a giant building, made of glass propelled to the sky, the U.A. building, the number one school in Japan, today was the entrance exam, and Raiden was extremely excited about it.

This day could define part of his future, so he couldn't mess up, he knew he had the aptitude to pass the exam, but he still felt nervous, "there we go" muttered Raiden before stepping under the entrance arc.

In no time, the boy walked toward the exam reception area, his steps quick with anticipation. There, a blonde woman greeted him with a warm smile. She took Raiden's registration papers and handed him a badge with a number, directing him to the location of his exam. She explained that he was assigned to the sixth group, which would take the written exam on the upper floors of the main building.

As Raiden arrived at his destination, he was struck by the sheer size of the place. The main building was astonishingly large, and the campus itself seemed vast, stretching out in every direction. From the upper floors, he could see that it felt more like a small city than just a campus—the expanse seemed to go on forever.

"Wow, this is incredible," Raiden muttered as he took in the view. He then turned and walked toward his assigned room. Inside, he saw a classroom filled with students in various uniforms, all looking determined and focused on their upcoming exam.

Following the receptionist's directions, Raiden approached the wall where a list of names was posted. He scanned it quickly, found his name, and walked directly to his assigned seat.

The test itself was easier than Raiden expected. While he wasn't a genius, he was above average, and soon realized the exam was less difficult than he had anticipated. He worked through the questions efficiently and checked his answers twice to be sure.

After about an hour, Raiden finished. As he looked around, he noticed that most of the other students had already left the room. Without hesitation, he stood up and made his way out.

He walked to the location of the second exam, and as he did, he noticed just how much larger everything seemed than it had appeared from the main building. The distances between areas were huge, and a bus was waiting to take the applicants to the second exam site. Raiden couldn't help but appreciate how expansive the campus truly was.

After ten minutes, the bus finally arrived. During the journey, Raiden attempted to strike up a conversation with the other applicants. However, they were all too engrossed in studying and reviewing notes for the practical exam to pay him any attention.

When Raiden stepped off the bus, he was stunned once again. Before him stood an enormous dome, far larger than anything he had ever seen. As he and the other applicants entered, their amazement only grew. Inside the dome was what appeared to be an entire city—a fully realized, bustling metropolis under one roof.

"WOAH, amazing!" Raiden and many of the other applicants exclaimed simultaneously, their voices echoing through the vast structure.

The sight left everyone astonished. Skyscrapers, streets, and intricate details made it feel as if they had stepped into a real urban landscape. However, before anyone could venture further or explore the simulated city, a booming voice erupted from speakers seemingly located everywhere.

The arena buzzed with nervous energy as a massive screen lit up, revealing Present Mic's dynamic presence. Even through the broadcast, his energy was infectious, his grin as wide as ever behind his signature shades. "WELCOME, FUTURE HEROES!" he roared, his voice blasting through the speakers and rattling the walls of the dome. "Today's the day you prove you've got what it takes! Show us your guts, your power, your EVERYTHING!"

The students shifted, their anticipation palpable as Present Mic raised his hand dramatically on the screen, exclaiming "Let's get it started! ready to Goooo" . But just as he opened his mouth, the feed suddenly cut to static.

Before Present Mic could officially kick off the exam, a loud smack interrupted him, followed by a comical "OWWW!" echoing through the dome. Confusion rippled through the crowd of applicants, with many exchanging puzzled glances.

At the same time behind Raiden, a boy with black hair hidden under a hoodie began muttering to himself, his voice low but filled with doubt.

"I can't do this... Everyone here looks amazing, and..." the boy murmured. His words were barely audible over the general buzz, but Raiden caught them. He hesitated, considering whether to say something to reassure the boy, it wasn't tecnically his place but before he could, a new voice interrupted the scene.

It was a gruff, somewhat apathetic tone, scolding Present Mic in the background. Though the exact words were unclear, the exchange was enough to jolt the pro hero back into action.

"OH RIGHT! SORRY, I FORGOT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IMPORTANT!" Present Mic's voice boomed once again, snapping everyone's attention back to the task at hand.

"THERE ARE FOUR TYPES OF VILLAINS YOU'LL BE FACING, AND EACH TYPE HAS A DIFFERENT POINT VALUE ASSIGNED BASED ON THEIR COLOR!"

He paused for dramatic effect before continuing.

"GREEN VILLAINS: 1 POINT.

ORANGE VILLAINS: 2 POINTS.

RED VILLAINS: 3 POINTS.

YOU'LL HAVE TEN MINUTES TO ACCUMULATE AS MANY POINTS AS POSSIBLE! THE SYSTEM WILL AUTOMATICALLY TRACK YOUR SCORE, AND WHEN THE TIMER HITS ZERO, THE TEST WILL END!"

The energy in the room rose as his voice hit a fever pitch. "NOW, LET'S GET READY TO ROLL! IN THREE... TWO... ONE... START!!!"

Immediately, a loud buzzer rang out, reverberating through the dome. In an instant, the applicants sprang into action, their excitement mingling with the adrenaline of the moment. Raiden felt his heart race as he took his first steps into the simulated city, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Raiden ran three meters before transforming. The boy immediately activated his telekinetic powers, rising into the sky. From there, he focused, using his abilities to scan the area below for potential threats. His gaze swept over the streets, spotting the "villains" scattered throughout the area—humanoid green robots moving in and out of buildings like stores, hotels, and offices.

"So, this is how it is," Raiden muttered under his breath, his expression hardening as he observed the robots. Without hesitation, he charged from the sky, propelling himself downwards. As he descended toward a building that appeared to be free of competitor students, he noticed something unusual.

As Raiden passed a window, he saw that the building's upper floors were occupied by red humanoid "villains", the middle floors by orange ones, and the lower floors by green ones.

Raiden hesitated mid-flight, taking a moment to reassess. Using his powers, he focused his attention on his eyes and muttered, "Laser Focus." In an instant, his vision sharpened, revealing the intricate details and weaknesses of the robots. All the robots appeared similar, but the red and orange ones were much more resilient, with fewer exposed weak points compared to the green ones.

Without wasting another moment, Raiden quickly formulated a plan. He would start with the upper floors—where the most dangerous villains were and, more importantly, where the hostages were likely being held. It was the most strategic choice for maximizing points while ensuring the safety of those in danger.

Raiden flew toward a window, carefully observing the robots to ensure they weren't looking in his direction. Using his tail reinforced by telekinetic energy, he shattered the glass. The energy not only amplified his strength but also shielded his body from the shards. The noise, however, immediately drew the attention of a nearby red robot.

Wasting no time, Raiden raised both hands toward the two closest robots charging at him. For a brief moment, he felt a twinge of irritation at their presence. His eyes glowed with a sharp intensity as he unleashed his power. "Confusion," he murmured. A telekinetic wave rippled from his palms, striking the robots directly in their neck joints. The impact bent their structural weak points, causing them to collapse instantly.

But the skirmish was far from over. As the first two robots hit the ground, four more red robots detected Raiden's presence. Observing how easily their "comrades" were defeated, they quickly adapted, repositioning themselves and shielding their vulnerable necks.

"Oh, so they're more than just piles of metal," Raiden muttered, smirking. "Let's see how they handle this. Swift!" With a flourish of his hands, eight golden stars materialized, darting toward the robots at high speed. The stars exploded on contact, causing the robots to stagger backward, but the attack wasn't enough to completely incapacitate them.

Taking advantage of their momentary disarray, Raiden dashed forward. With a spinning motion, he positioned himself between two of the robots. He extended his arms outward, releasing another pulse of Confusion energy from his palms. The psychic blast sent both machines flying across the room, rendering them inactive.

"Good. That's twelve points," Raiden said with a satisfied grin. But before he could revel in his success, a heavy impact struck him from behind, launching him into a nearby wall.

CRASH!

Inside a room filled with monitors, multiple teachers observed the unfolding test with sharp focus. Suddenly, Vlad King leaned forward, his tone intrigued. "We've got two interesting kids with transformation-type Quirks. Both are showing a surprising range of abilities," he remarked, watching Raiden battle and glancing at another screen showing a boy with one arm resembling a giant crab claw and the other featuring octopus-like fingers.

"Yeah, both of them have impressive versatility," added Snipe, a former pro hero wearing a cowboy hat and a smoke mask. "But they're lacking precision. If they make it into U.A., we'll need to work on that."

"And their collateral damage," another hero interjected, his eerie black mask adorned with golden details around a sinister white smile. "They're leaving a mess behind."

"Haha, our job is to guide them," Snipe replied. "But I agree—they've got potential."

Nezu, the mouse-like principal dressed in a sharp suit, chuckled softly. "Indeed. But they're not the only promising ones. Look over there," he said, pointing to three more screens.

On one screen, a blonde-haired boy fought a group of green robots. His hands phased through the machines as if they were water, causing them to malfunction and collapse.

On another, a blue-haired girl darted around the simulated city, firing bursts of energy from her hands to take down villains with precision.

The last screen showed a petite red-haired girl lightly tapping robots with her palms. As she moved away and clapped her hands, small, controlled explosions erupted, disabling her targets.

"This year's candidates are less but the ones that stand out are exceptional," Nezu mused, sipping a cup of coffee. "It's going to be an exciting year."
