Awakening III

In the inner sanctum, I found a scene..…a truly painful scene.

My beloved crucified and surrounded by flames, shouted to the heavens she worshipped as the light of man's god surrounded her. Her chest split open as a figure of light ripped its way out.

"WE WELCOME THE HERO OF GOD!!"

By the time the figure of light appeared, my beloved was already dead. The figure waved its hand and a sword and a spear flew out of her belly into his hands and a golden armor appeared on his body. All of them carrying the lif energy of my unborn children and beloved wife.

"ROASLIN!! ROSALIN!!!YOU DAMNED MONSTERS!"

I held nothing back, the energies of death and night flowing through and exploding in every direction.

"I am risen, are you not happy, brother?" The golden armored figure spoke with a voice I recognized well.

"ALUCARD? H-HOW COULD IT BE YOU?!"

The rest… you'll see it all once you have sufficient strength. To inherit my power, you must inherit my will, are you willing?

What will?

To slay the god of man and all that worship him, to burn his altars, temples and impale the heads of his saints and children on poles formed of their own spines.

Are you willing, child?

…..I am willing.

After living through dracula, experiencing his emotions, thoughts, pains and joys, there was no way Lin Jie could refuse.

An unknown amount of later, in the nurse's room, several people argued and paced around the room. The best doctors and healers in the world, the dean of the academy, and several teachers.

In that instant, Lin Jie eyes snapped open and he looked around slowly.

I'm back in the nurse's office..?

Noticing Jean sat near the bed crying, he raised his hand to wipe her tears.

"STOP!"

In less than a millisecond, his hand was grabbed by the dean and the teachers, stopped by their enormous strength, he was unable to even move a finger.

So fast, did they teleport?!

"What's going on?!"

"He's become an undead! Jean, use your heal on him!" The dean blocked John's mouth and ordered.

The dean's here?!

The X-Rank, Paul Merk, a muscular and bald warrior class hunter, who started the academy after his war days. Seeing him was a rare event as he was always outside on missions, so Lin Jie knew something was up.

"No! He just talked, the undead can't talk!" Jean refused to comply.

"There's no doubt about it, the cardiograph is showing zero! Do it now!" A doctor shouted.

Unable to remove the dean's hand to explain himself, not that he could explain how his heart had no beat, Lin Jie was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

While Lin Jie was lost in thought reading the panels, Jean was finally convinced that he was an undead by the doctors. Her holy energy was the only way to incapacitate Lin Jie without compeltely destroying his body, so they prefered it to the other methods.

"Holy light in the heavens above, purify this soul and bring it light! [Divine Heal]!"

As the holy energy covered Lin Jie, his skin burned slightly for a short bit and then it settled down and no longer affected him.

Confusion filled the room as no one understood what was going on.

Now's my chance! [Shift]!

Instantly moving out of place, Lin Jie only barely moved a meter before the dean spotted and caught him.

"No you don't!"

"I'm alive! I'm alive! This is my power!" Shouting frantically to not get turned into atoms by a punch from the dean, Lin Jie finally managed to calm everyone down.

Silence spread through the room for a while, side-eyes darting around.

"*Cough* At any rate, it's good that you're okay," Ever so awkwardly, the dean lowered Lin Jie back to the ground.

"I knew it!"

Jean rushed towards Lin Jie to hug him, but an unseen force pushed her back only a few foot from him. The sound of a rushing wind filled the room.

No one was alarmed as they all knew the nature of Jean's power [Divine Child]. Though they couldn't see or sense her helper at all.

"Why are you stopping me?!" Jean shouted into the air.

"He's a being of darkenss, I was protecting you!" Her aid replied with an equally loud shout, though she knew no one other Jean could hear.

"There's no way John would hurt me! It's just his power…"

The two went back and forth for a long time, unable to come to an agreement. The dean and the doctors had long left the room, leaving only Lin Jie and Jean.

"I don't have time for this, I need to check his condition,"

Jean waved her hand and walked towards Lin Jie, but just a few feet from him, something stopped her and the argument started up again.

"I can see you." Lin Jie's eyes turned crimson. "Now let go of her, little birdie,"
