A Win

Chapter 19

"Ambrose and Kai. I don't know the superpowers you two possess but we need to stop that screaming man as soon as possible. Leaving him unscathed would disrupt a lot of things." Roxie said.

The leader of the evil player group didn't exhibit any outward superpowers. It was very likely that his superpower was related to physical augmentation.

"Understood." Ambrose and Kai chorused.

Roxie's eyes started to freeze, "Don't hold back."

This group of players before them weren't trying to hold back at all. Her group should return the favor.

She didn't want to see any member of her group hurt because of any urge to be magnanimous.

The three of them launched themselves at the incoming group.

Everyone clashed. Sparks flew.

Roxie targeted the leader herself.

Her superpower was auxiliary but she still had her battle experience from different apocalyptic worlds. She should be able to hold on against a man with a physical superpower.

This was still the early stage of the apocalypse.

The overall superpower levels of everyone on this planet shouldn't be too high.

According to her calculations, Kai should face off against the man with ice powers. His superpower looked like a shield.

She didn't know if he would be able to stand his ground against that screaming man. It was better not to take any chances.

Although she was embroiled in a fight herself, she still spared a few seconds to observe Kai and Ambrose.

Her lips hooked upwards.

Fortunately, she made the right bet.

Her group members could hold their ground against their opponents.

Ambrose wasn't affected by the sound waves coming from the screaming player.

Since his superpower was useless, the player didn't have any other choice but to engage in a physical fight with Ambrose.

The fight continued for an unknown amount of time.

Roxie glanced at the sky.

She didn't want to waste more time here.

She began to intensify her attacks.

The stamina she had was around the same level with her opponent. She played a trick on the leader of the evil player group.

Any time she felt tired, she would dip her hand in space.

The boost these actions brought were small but it kept her away from tipping over the edge in a ugly way.

Because of her deliberate arrangement and her opponent's desire to win at any cost, she was able to hide what she was doing from him.

Sweat beaded on the man's forehead.

His actions began to slow down.

This man had a sizable experience in battle but his body was failing him.

As he slowed down, more flaws appeared in his moves.

Roxie used that special opportunity to hit him where it hurts.

A few bruises were on Roxie's body. The man before her was in a similar situation.

Roxie deliberately left a flaw in her attack.

Her opponent's eyes lit up and he aimed for that flaw.

A light smile was on his lips.

The tiny line of blood at the corner of his lips didn't dim the smile he had.

Roxie sneered.

It seemed this man thought he would win.

How naive!

When the man threw himself into her trap, she counterattacked.

Her opponent's right fist hit her shoulder. He had been aiming for her neck but a little movement from her changed that.

Pain bloomed in the area his fist landed on.

She bit her lips and continued her movement.

Taking his blow was a necessary sacrifice to end this fight as soon as possible.

Her legs swept out.

Her actions cleared the man's legs off the ground.

The man fell down in shock.

Roxie moved quickly.

The moment the man fell, she straddled him.

Her fists started to rain on his face.

She continued attacking even without stopping to breath.

Her hands were numbil and aching. Still, Roxie didn't care.

Blood spilled from her opponent's nose, mouth and other bruised places.

Roxie wrapped her hands around the man's neck and tightened it.

"Please, forgive me. Forgive us for provoking you. Let us go, please. We would never do this thing again." The man struggled to say his words.

A vicious light flashed through his eyes.

Roxie sneered.

If she hadn't seen the little evil thoughts he was trying to hide, she would still not let him and his minions go.

Doing that kind of thankless task was just causing more harm.

For a player to think about stealing superpowers, their moral guidebook should be contaminated. This is not the kind of person she wanted to leave alive.

She can't be in a vigilant state every second because she wanted to let her enemies go.

Impossible!

"Okay." She smiled sweetly.

She loosened her hold a little.

The man tried to smile too.

Suddenly, she clenched her hands.

A satisfying crack sounded from the man's neck.

His head tilted to the side a little and light left his eyes rapidly.

The shock in his eyes still remained till it took his last breath.

It was a pity.

Roxie would have loved to hear what he wanted to say because of her sudden move.

She rose to her feet and looked towards her group members.

Ambrose had eliminated his opponent and he had joined Kai in facing off against the player with ice superpowers.

Ambrose's superpower was still unknown. All Roxy knew was the fact that he could ignore the damage caused by the screaming player.

Within seconds, the last player folded. Fighting in a two to one battle had little chances of success.

Roxie wasn't surprised.
