Chapter 22 My fear is here, cruel nature.

The man ran without stopping until he reached his destination. But what was his destination, anyway? He had run away from Elician and Lacey. He fled from their sight when the pain in his groin subsided. He knew Elician spared him for a reason, and that reason was dreadfully bad.

Regarding Lacey, the girl they kidnapped was even more cruel than the boy. She had slapped him countless times with the whips meant for the horses. The whipping didn't stop until she was tired of torturing him. The torture alone didn't scare him enough. He was scared of what might happen after he met his master.

That wasn't the only reason he ran. He was running from the two kids. No, he wasn't. Something else was also after him. He was running because of something dangerous, and his heart trembled at the mere image of it. Fear kept him moving forward. He wasn't stopping, not now that she was after him.
