Chapter 39.

Elician didn't mean to make his mom feel bad, but he had no choice. He couldn't just tell her that he was talking to a demon. That would have scared the hell out of her.

As he thought about this, he remained calm, grateful for his critical thinking abilities. If it weren't for them, he didn't know what would have happened.

He got out of the room and went downstairs, where he found his mom preparing a meal in the kitchen.

Elician: Mom, about earlier, I'm really sorry for what I said to you.

When his mom heard this, she smiled as she cut the onion in her hands into slices.

Mom: But what did you say that was wrong? I don't quite remember.

Elician smiled.

Elician: Mom, I'm sorry I asked you those series of questions.

Mom: What are those series of questions?

Elician: I'm sorry I asked you if you trusted me or not.

Mom: No worries, son. There's no need to worry. My head was throbbing just a moment ago, but now it's gone.
