Qincheng didn’t expect Huang Jin to suddenly offer her a ride. She hesitated for a moment before replying,
“Thank you for offering but I’m afraid I can’t join you today… maybe another time.”
She maintained a steady smile while speaking, giving it the feeling of a friendly rejection.
Huang Jin nodded,
“I understand. Maybe another time when you’re less burdened.”
Zhi Luan stood by the side and didn’t want to get involved, but when he heard Huang Jin’s last statement, the veins on his face popped out as his frown deepened.
Just as Huang Jin was done talking, the sedan continued on its way. Qincheng noted Zhi Luan’s sudden expression and instantly understood what had just happened.
“Using me to get revenge on you… you both better leave me out of your quarrel.”
“There’s no quarrel between us. He’s not even worth my time.”
Zhi Luan coldly replied and kept walking toward the school exit, where they got a cab and went home.
