The moment of calm didn’t last long. As the Threads above began to stabilize, a low hum resonated through the void. It wasn’t threatening, but it carried an ancient weight—like the whisper of a forgotten memory.
“What now?” Jace asked, his hand still crackling faintly with residual energy from his flames.
Anita tilted her head, trying to tune into the sound. “It’s… a message.”
Kael raised an eyebrow. “A message? From who?”
“Not who. What,” Anita corrected. “The Threads themselves. They’re alive in their own way—connected to everything. I think they’re trying to show us something.”
As if in response, the swirling stars above shifted, arranging themselves into a cascade of moving images. Scenes played out before them, fragmented and fleeting.
