Chapter 129: Threads of Destiny

The air in the chamber shimmered as Anita stood, clutching the shard of light. The Threads within her pulsed in harmony with it, weaving together in ways she couldn’t yet understand. Her breathing was steady now, her hands no longer trembling. A quiet resolve filled her heart. She was no longer just Anita—she was the Threadbearer.

She turned toward the chamber’s entrance. The light from the Threads illuminated the jagged path she had taken to get here. And standing there, at the edge of the threshold, was Jace. His golden eyes glowed faintly in the dim light, and his tails—visible only because of the full moon—swayed behind him.

"You did it," Jace said, his voice low and steady. There was a mix of pride and caution in his tone, as though he could sense the weight of her decision.

Anita stepped forward, the shard still clutched in her hand. "I don’t know if I’ve done anything yet," she admitted. "But I’ve made my choice."
